What a great piece of kit - fitted to 3 drawers within 15 minutes - all you need is a Philips (cross head) screwdriver, it took me longer to empty the drawers than it did to fix them. I've used other drawer strengthening kits before but they consisted of plastic brackets and pieces of wood which needed to be cut to size - which wasn't difficult but was a bit more tedious, and there was more cleaning up afterwards, I also had to saw a bit of the carcass cross-members away to accommodate the strengthening kit. These are great - being so thin there is no chance of them fouling on the carcass, you just feed the strap through the smaller bracket and screw to the drawer front, and then thread the strap through the larger bracket, adjust the strap and screw to the back of the drawer - simples! If your drawer is already sagging then this kit will not fix this issue - in fact other than getting a piece of board and making a replacement drawer bottom - perhaps the ones with wooden/metal bracing might - but that is debatable and you might have the same issues I had. What this will stop is the drawer bottom coming out of its grooves and falling away. We do have one drawer with a saggy bottom - but by changing it to a different position it no longer catches on the drawer carcass so that solved that problem.

Having got fed up with being unable to open drawers easily because the base had pushed out, I decided to try some of these. In each pack you get two brackets with two screw holes that go on the inside front of the drawer and two with a single hole that go at the back (although one packet had only one front and three rear ones. There's also plenty of the "strap" which is actually the sort of plastic webbing that you find wrapped around parcels. I found that, rather than follow the diagram in the instructions, it was easier to feed the strap through the holes in the brackets so the loose end came out at the top (the instructions show it underneath) which means you can wiggle a bit of extra strap through to improve the tension. It was a bit fiddly mounting the front brackets, but I found the easiest way was to measure where the centre of the drawer was, put the bracket in place and use an awl to make pilot holes so that I could then put the screws into them before tightening. Also, only screw the front screws in half way to begin with, then get the strap as tight as you can to mount the rear bracket (also it helps if you prop the drawer upright and lean on it to push the back in as far as possible). Once you've got the rear bracket in place, then tighten the front screws fully to give the best possible tension on the strap. Do be careful not to overtighten the screws, otherwise the wood will just split out. Apart from that, they're a useful item and do what you need.

This helped a lot with our drawer that was warped due to water damage. The screws went in easy to the MDF but the back of my drawers are a different material and we did need to borrow an electric screw driver to complete putting it together. Even just installing the bracket helped with the stability of the drawer while we waited for the electric screwdriver to finish installing the strap. For the price and ease of install it is a great kit to resolve a broken drawer.

This is amazing! Bit fiddly to use but we'll worth it. My daughter had broken her large palm dressing table drawer, making it unusable. This fixed the drawer in <15 mins. Brilliant. Would buy again if needed
