BOOMco. Dual Defenders Blaster

These Boomco Dual Defender Blasters have been a complete hit at our home. I was very concerned about a higher powered gun like these as in teh past we've only had nerf guns and the 5 year old has been handle those ok. We initially purchased one set of two and my sons (11 and 5) have been playing nonstop. Although it was a bit more difficult for my younger son to pull it back to shoot, he eventually became better at it and no longer needs our help. I will add that purchasing the additional poster sized target made a huge difference in the game and length of play. I highly recommend adding that as an inexpensive way to expand your target. We have had so much fun and the boys got tired of sharing their blasters with us that my husband decided to order another set for the two of us, so now the family plays together and it's super fun and relatively inexpensive entertainment for what you get. The blasters and the darts are well made and we've had no trouble getting the darts to stick. They are also fairly easy to peel off the target (whether you're using the included targets or the larger poster I previously mentioned) and continue on to the round!

The set of 2 Boomco Farshot is amazing. I have done organised Nerf guns with Boys and Girls clubs for many years. I read a review about these being far superior in accuracy and distance (un-modded) then anything else and I had to try it for this price. When i got the guns I pulled the guns out of the package and yelled at a co-worker who was about 25 ft away. He saw what I had and stooped to see what the gun could do. I aimed at his head expecting the dart to drop and hit him in the chest. It fired straight and hard! He did not have a chance to dodge or react. It hitting him square in the cheek and left a good welt for about an hour. This is not a toy for little kids. It easily can shoot the 70 ft it clams and do it incredibly accurately for a plastic dart. I would play a Nerf war with anyone playing long distance and bet that I could put more shots in the same space then any nerf gun (un-modded).

These products arrived as promised and as shown. The kids 6 and 8 were beyond excited to get these and the fun began. I have read the review that theses are target shooting guns and would agree, they shoot fast with little give. As kids will be kids and a few welts later they are now target guns. They darts seem to very pretty solid but unlike the other brands can be reshaped or just shoved back these are not that easy. The dart durability is mainly a concern due to how they store there toys (basically several bins). The other company darts look like letters C’s and S’s but the boomco are still strait time will tell. Overall they are really fun and kids enjoyed them.The only con is that the ammunition is not interchangeable with other brands. This led the kids leaving them behind when they are playing with other kids since they have to find there ammunition instead of the free for all grab and stuff of the other brands. This also led into purchasing more darts since they cannot share with the other kids. I month later they are still intact and work well they just don’t get the same amount of use due to the dart compatibility.

This is a package of two single shot blasters with 6 darts (3 each of two colors), and some smart-stick targets. The same blaster is available in several color combinations in a single pack, but this is the best value pack per blaster.The blaster grips are small in an adult hand, but not uncomfortable. There is storage for two darts inside each grip, neatly accounting for the six darts (one in the barrel, two in the handle, x2 blasters). Each blaster also has a smart-stick shield which can be unfolded so your partner can soot at your shield. This can be attached to a rail on the top of the bottom of the blasters.The blasters have a safety so you can't dry-fire. This seems unnecessarily complex, but maybe the spring is so powerful that the blaster will damage itself when dry-fired, or maybe there is a legal need for this safety.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my boys (6 and 8) and it clearly says that its for kids between 6-15 but the loading system to throw or use the pistols wok is very difficult to do for a young kid. I had to do it every time they want to play but eventually they got bored of asking me to pull the little part that is on the back to charge the dart. I would have bought something totally different if I knew this was that hard to use for them.

My sons (6 and 10) got this for Christmas- they saw it on tv I believe and wouldn't stop begging me for it...so Santa brought it. It's so much fun! The guns are relatively small sized- about a handgun size (but I don't know anything about guns..so I'm just guessing :) They shoot sticky "bullets" out towards the targets...wall...sister..ha ha! and shoot far- however the occasional "sister or brother hit" actually sting pretty good- so don't let them aim at each others faces- which should be a no-brainer! Easy to load and fire, the guns come with 4 bullets each- red and green. My boys say they shoot better than nerf does and they take up less space! Great gift for boys--they'll love it!

Kind of cheap quality, but it didn't cost much so, that's really ok I think.

After my first Boom Co purchase, I never bought any other brand of gun again. We probably own 20 guns from this company and love every single one. The little ones are the most fun.
