Nicely made guitar, that is beautiful with the sunburst. Size is perfect for our 7 year old son to start taking lessons. Will probably start changing out the strings to metal once he gets started playing.

First off - this does not come set up in any way shape or form. If you are not familiar with guitars and buy this for a child please know that it's not a horrible instrument just because the strings come loose. The first thing I did is replace the strings - I got the nylon version and nylon strings are notorious for taking forever to stretch out to their final length. Another thing to be aware of - the guitar going out of tune with brand new strings is not the guitar's fault - that's just the nature of classical guitars and since it wasn't setup or tuned from the factory it's going to take a while after you get it for it to stay in tune because the strings are stretching out slowly. I pick the guitar right up by the strings and bounce it a bit to help stretch things out when I change nylon strings. Second, this is a 70 dollar guitar, manage your expectations. I have about 10 different stringed instruments in my possession in varying qualities. I've bought cheaper instruments when I was planning on spending a chunk of money because the cheaper instruments can sometimes play and sound much better. You don't need to spend a massive amount of money for a solid instrument - and frankly the Pyle brand is pretty excellent for the cost. I own a bunch of their microphones and they are pretty epic honestly. I've had people listen to my podcast and tell me how impressed they are with my sound quality and think I'm using 100$+ microphones - and I'm finding the same with the guitar quality. Good tuners, decent bridge, it's really not bad. The finish is not great though - if you are purchasing an instrument for aesthetics this probably isn't for you. They put some weird coating on the fret board that was already flaking off when I got it - though I bought this as a beater guitar so I really don't care. There was also cracking in the finish at the bottom of the guitar. None of this affects playability or sound - so I don't care. I bought some fun fret marker stickers since this doesn't have any inlays, and the new strings I bought are funky colors. It looks pretty awesome for the 90$ I spent in total with the strings and inlay stickers. It sounds good. It feels great in my hands. I can toss this one in the car or put it on the floor and I couldn't care less if it gets scratched - money well spent.

Bought for my 11 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves it and better quality than I was expecting for the price point. She loves the blue color. It’s gorgeous. Only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the zipper on the bag broke the first time we used it.

This is my first guitar. I’ve only had it a couple days but I’ll say I think This is a perfect guitar for beginners. The appearance of this guitar is just okay. It has visual imperfections. But it plays well, it’s light and easy to hold and it feels comfortable. All in all I’m happy with this purchase so far. If anything changes, I’ll update.

As a singer and brass player for 70 years, I decided to expand my musical enjoyment and just received my first guitar today. I didn't want to bet the farm on something I'd never tried, so I shopped the economy offerings and settled on a used Pyle 36" 6-string instrument. I wasn't expecting much more than a basic practice guitar, so when I opened the box this morning and randomly thumbed a couple of strings, I was blown away by the quantity and quality of sound that resulted. The tone was full and rich and very pleasing, although horribly out of tune. All the reviews I read before the purchase warned about the difficulty in tuning new nylon strings, and I now strongly second the motion, but they also stressed that a few days of adjustment would allow the strings to settle in and hold their pitch nicely. The moral to my tale so far is that "you get what you pay for" doesn't always hold true. The $41.38 that I paid for this guitar and accessories (including $3.00 sales tax) seems a very small price to pay for what I believe I have received. It is a beautiful instrument with a tone quality I never would have expected. I realize I have a long way to go in this new adventure, but to say that I am greatly pleased so far is a gross under statement.

First off, I've been playing classical guitar my whole life. I was so excited when my youngest son told me he wanted to spend his savings on his own classical guitar and wanted me to teach him to play. It's basically the thrill of a lifetime for me lol. I am extremely satisfied with this guitar as his first step. I'll explain why. But first I need to address multiple reviews here that rate this product negatively due to its inability to keep tune. I can assure you, there is not a brand new set of nylon strings on the planet that will stay in tune until they've have been stretched out. So yes, if you are inexperienced, you may wonder why this guitar can't stay in tune long enough to play a single chord. What you need to do, is over tune the strings so they are much higher than they should be. Then every hour or so, go back and do it again. They will have loosened up a lot, and will need this several times. Before bed, make sure you tune them nice and tight (high). But don't break the strings lol. Slow tightening. In the morning. You should notice that they are holding tension much better. You may need to keep up this process for as long as 3 or 4 days in some cases. It is very dependent on the strings. My best suggestion, is invest in good strings. They are cheap. I recommend Ernie ball brand strings personally. My next choice would be admira as they have a great classical ring to them. This guitar is perfect for learners. Nylon Strings are MUCH preferable to young fingers. They will be able to play longer. Part of playing guitar, is developing calloused fingertips to make playing the instrument bearable. Young aspiring guitarists need to be made aware.. This HURTS when you're getting started. No way around it, but nylon strings are a much more gentle transition for new fingers. The neck on a classical guitar is flat and wider than a traditional acoustic guitar,that boasts a more narrow, curved neck. The Spacing on a classic guitar makes notes played more deliberate. Allowing more early instances of your young player getting to strum all 6 strings without muting any of them. The wider neck however.. It's harder to play. The fingers need to reach farther, making chord transitions challenging. I think this is HUGE in developing technical skills early. I mean REAL skills. The kind you don't see everyday. I absolutely want my child learning with this element in play. I realized at a young age, that I could play all my friends acoustic guitars so very easily after learning on a classical. It felt like I was cheating somehow, or like I was somehow playing the guitar on "easy mode". This is because I had to work harder to articulate my fingers on the classical guitar as I was learning. The size of this guitar is perfect for 9 -11 year old children to hold properly. The quality is fine. I was not expecting a symphony quality instrument here when I recommended my little guy buy this. But it is more than sufficient to create quality sounding music. I would NOT want a lot more quality out of this instrument and here is why. This will be obsolete very soon unless you have another youngster on deck to pick it up after. They grow fast. They learn fast. He needs this to wail on a few years tops and he will be starting to think about getting his first full size, quality instrument. That is what the Money should be saved for. Not for a junior guitar. Kids are clumsy. You want something that isn't going to break any hearts if damaged. You want something easy to replace in the worst case scenario. This is that guitar. It has a sturdy body, it looks great, it sounds fine. My kid has a heart of gold so I just assume he'll give it away to one of his little cousins or something when he outgrows it. Lol As a lifetime classical guitar player, trust me when I say this is ALL you need if you've got a little one wanting to learn for the first time. Get something crazy when they're ready for it.
