Reliable high-capacity DDR5 kit that just works on AM5
recently installed the Crucial Pro DDR5 96 GB Kit (2×48 GB) 5600 MHz in my rig—running a AMD Ryzen 9 7900X on an AM5 motherboard—and overall I’m impressed. Here’s a breakdown of how it went: ⸻ ✅ What I liked • The installation was straightforward: pop in the two modules, enable EXPO in BIOS and it was immediately recognised at 5600 MHz without fuss. • With an AM5 board, the kit supports AMD EXPO as advertised, which made configuration simpler than some previous generations of memory. • Stability has been rock solid. I’ve been using the PC for mixed work (accounting spreadsheets, content creation, light video editing) and it hasn’t thrown any memory-related errors or weird crashes. • For the price and capacity (96 GB is plenty), it delivers excellent value. If you’re like me juggling productivity, content creation and maybe some leisure time on weekends, having extra headroom in RAM is reassuring. ⸻ ⚠️ Areas to consider • It’s rated at 5600 MHz—good—but on my AM5 board I couldn’t immediately push it much higher without tweaking voltages and timings. If you’re chasing ultra high memory clocks (say 5600- 5800 MHz+), you may need to dial in more advanced settings. • The heat spreader profile is low-profile but still visible—if you’ve got a very cramped case and a large CPU cooler you’ll want to double-check clearance. • If you’re primarily doing gaming and don’t use many RAM-heavy applications, 96 GB might be overkill (though for content creation it gives great headroom). ⸻ 🎯 My verdict If you’re building an AM5 system (such as with a Ryzen 7000 series CPU) and want a no-nonsense high-capacity kit with very good compatibility and stability, this Crucial Pro DDR5 96 GB kit is a strong pick. It ticks the boxes for performance, ease of setup and future-proofing. For my own workflow—part accounting, part content creation, part casual gaming—it gives me peace of mind and frees me up to not worry about running out of memory.

Solid Ram for the price
This for the Crucial Pro 5600 96GB Kit (2 x 48GB) The modules are Micron B Die DDR5 I didnt fancy paying £380 for a 7200 Kit so took my chances with these hoping for around 6000 on an overclock They worked out slightly better than i was expecting They perform best if you dont go crazy overvolting them 1.20V seems to be the sweet spot i wouldnt bother over 1.25V On my Z790 Aorus Pro X these are totally stable at 6400 with the ram voltage bumped from 1.1v to only 1.2v I can boot them at 6600 but they failed Karhu Memory Tester so didnt waste much time further trying 6600 See image for fully stability tested tweaked advanced timings

Works great after BIOS update
Ordered these for the Asus Maximus HERO Z690 system, The Crucial page shows it's supported, however, when installed, the system wouldn't post, and showed error code 53 on the motherboard which is for a memory error. Tried all slots in 1 or 2 module configurations and it kept showing the same error. I have two other kits on me and both work fine, so either this kit is incompatible after all or dead on arrival. Some research found out the DDR5 can be hit and miss, to be on the safe side, make sure it's on the motherboard's QVL list or don't bother as the memory manufacturer page doesn't show the real compatibility, it's just based on the theoretical spec sheet. Updated. My fault initially, Asus had released a BIOS update with added DDR5 module support on 22.03.2024, didn't realise there was such a recent update, and after installing it, the motherboard recognized the kits and worked great with it. So for anyone looking to upgrade, make sure your motherboard has the latest BIOS before installing this kit. For Crucial, would be nice if they added this on their product page, a note that their kit might not be compatible with earlier DDR5 boards out of the box and a BIOS update might be needed for it to run.

Seems good enough for me.
Seems good enough for me. Never really overclocked it. Probably never will. The sticks I got seem to give me the full 5600 MHz I noticed that sometimes it goes to 4800 MHz or 5200 MHz, but it doesn't matter when I'm not paying attention, it doesn't matter. I just needed more RAM; this did the job.

Reliable and fast
if your wanting allot of RAM which is fast and stable, this is perfect. 5600mhz is more than enough speed, have 96GB in just 2 sticks means your motherboard will thank you and its cheaper than buying 4 sticks of RAM.

Elegant, minimalistic and work as expected
It's RAM, It's Crucial/Micron. It's working as expected. But what I do like about them is how absolutely beautiful they are. Nothing fancy, just minimalism and elegance. Which also helps with keeping them from being too tall and hindering some tower coolers. My initial mistake with these ones was that I got 2 kits expecting them to work in a 4 dimm configuration. Did not happen. AM5 motherboards are fiddly enough that they barely get 96GB RAM to work, let alone 192GB(and from 2 different kits). But 96GB do work fine after the initial training time(which can take several minutes during the first boot after installation)

Check your motherboard documents.
This is my honest feedback and experience. Installed it ok, wouldn’t boot. Fans screaming but no POST screen… Persevered for a long while… reinstalled original ram. I thought “this isn’t cool” Checked motherboard docs and spec, and found out it wasn’t supported, but there was a new bios version available (ASUS tuf gaming 670-Wi-Fi with 9800x3d cpu) Version bios 3223 makes this work lovely. Great bit of RAM after an update. No criticism, but do read your motherboard docs before you make a mistake. Although I know this RAM is very widely supported, I had a minor issue in my case. (Entirely my fault!)

Plug & play

Great value
Works as advertised. Never tried overclocking. Until recently this is the only way for 2 sticks max ram size for non servers.
