Braun Thermoscan 7 IRT6520 Thermometer + Bonus 40 ThermoScan Lens Filters

This is the only thermometer my kids will use. They know how to use it and then can tell us “their color” and we know whether they have a fever or not. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. Temperature accuracy is spot on. These are what my husband uses on the ambulance service he works for.

This is one of the best thermometers on the market. It's user friendly, very accurate and the display is very easy to understand.

Solidly Built, Great Quality. Before attempting to use the thermometer the first time, I recommend reading the instruction book on how to power-up and select the desired range; I didn't read the instruction book at first since my daughter is a nurse and already owned one of these; So I found it to be confusing to operate it at first. But after I understood the startup process, the thermometer is easy to use and functions perfectly. This is definitely the best home-thermometer which I've ever seen, and I definitely recommend it for any home.

Extremely accurate readings and easy to use. I don’t think the ones you point at the head are accurate especially on my 6 month old. This gives an accurate and quick reading while limiting ear discomfort.

The packaging is clearly intended for Germany. The manual is the international version, as is the quick instruction card. The unit itself appear to be entirely identical to the US version, except that it defaults to C. (With the unit OFF, hold the power button until it starts alternating between C and F - release when the degree scale you prefer is showing.) The probe covers included inside the Braun packaging are made by Kaz in the USA, just like the Braun-branded probe covers in the US version, and Braun-branded refill packages. The probe cover box is, again, the european version, giving contact addresses in Switzerland and the UK. Bundled with the unit are two boxes of aftermarket probe covers. Aftermarket in this case means Hillrom covers, made by Welch Allyn in the US. These are not the Braun-branded covers made by Kaz that you get when you buy genuine covers. I did knock one star off for this, because the pictures clearly show the Braun logo molded into the stacks of probe covers, and that's what I was hoping was going to be included. With that said, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the Welch Allyn covers. They work just fine, and they are even proud enough to emboss the Hillrom logo where the Braun logo should be. If you haven't already learned this for yourself, avoid the Chinese probe covers. They are super cheap and thin, and their rim doesn't have enough rigidity to hold the sensor pin in place. While I just got this one, this isn't my first Thermoscan 7 IRT 6520. I've been using my other one twice a day for the last few months, and I've loaned it out several times for events (screening people at the door, etc). I picked up a second one (this one) to make it easier to loan out as the country moves towards re-opening.

This is a great value because comes with an extra box of two cases of “tip” covers for the reader. Can be used in babies all the way to adults. Instructions are very simple. Measuring the temperature is very easy: just put it in your ear and hit the button. Takes a second. Screen changes colors (uses same colors as traffic lights) depending on the temperature and your age. So if you think certain temp is a fever you always have the screen to give you a pice if mind (like it did for me!) if the screen is green :-). Changing the units from Fahrenheit to Celsius is also very easy. Product made in Mexico, designed in Germany; Says in the box and in the product itself. Braun is a great brand. I recommend.

When I got it, it initially didn't want to turn on but I think it was bc it was hot from being in a truck. Once it was up an running, about 20 minutes after bringing inside, I noticed too that it was in celcius. However, all you have to do is turn it off and then hold down the power button and then you have the option to switch to F or C. I like that we can switch the age of the individual being checked bc we have each age range. Accurate. But you can't keep using the same cover or else it will raise your temp. I tested that out.

As someone who works in the healthcare industry I have used MANY thermometers. This one is, by far, the easiest and most accurate thermometer I have ever used. This is my personal "check my temps before work and before bed" thermometer and I'll never go back to an oral one as they are uncomfortable. My favorite part is that you have 2 ears, so you can take your temp in both and then get the average(sometimes the ear I sleep on is warmer for a while afterwards). Ive never had my ears read more than half a degree off of eachother even after sleeping on one of them for 8 hours.
