one of the best xl folders I have ever purchased hands down. This things comes razor sharp out of the box and decently pointy as well. The blade stock is decently thick and has the tri-ad (lock back mechanism paired with a lock bar to back it up and absorb shock better) and the skeletonized handle is one of the biggest reasons I purchased this bad boy not only due to its looks but because it reduces a decent amount of weight from the knife overall making this big boy a lot easier to carry in the pocket, it also adds extra grips for using the holes as finger holes. honestly for 100 bucks this is an amazing price and garret quality for a decent intimidating EDC.

I've been buying Cold Steel Knives for years, and they are all function based and straight to the point, in this instance the "Counter Point". (Pun intended) . I don't usually buy serrated knives, but this design in its XL form was the answer to my Prayers and needs for a EDC. As a first responder and MA practitioner, I findly needed a knife with a serration that can be used for everything. I Don't recommend modification to a false edge design on a "folder", but with their Tri-Ad lock system it was too irresistible. If you know what your doing, you can maximize this blades potential as a fighting knife by making the false edge at the tip functional about a quarter inch. (Do not sharpen the entire profile, unless you have a dedicated pouch for it) The grip texture is perfect it stays in place after strenuous practice if hands are sweaty or under water. The clip does not get in the way when in use. Aus 10 is great steel it's renowned for its edge holding ability and rust resistance, it also brings the price down and makes it affordable, if on a budget. I have tremendous faith in the Tri-ad lock system that's the only reason why I attempted to make the the false edge functional after putting it through a short series of stress test of course. As far as thickness is concerned, It is not a chopper you can't hit wood or small branches with it, but it could be a dedicated knife for everything else. Not sure if I needed the serration to run the whole length of the blade, but overall awesome knife. It will go with me everywhere.

update 1/9/26 after spending some time with it I have changed my mind. Lock mechanism let up a bit and the action is smooth as silk. edge retention is perfect as is the edge geometry. blade centering is on point and it has been very durable. I can definitely recommend this particular blade as a hard use monster.

This counter point with serrated blade is a boisterous behemoth! It is very strong, well made with superior quality & triad lock- the ideal big knife recommendation.

Huge knife but not to heavy to edc. Serrations are razor shop, worth every penny i bought 2.

Great durable knife, but the handle is to long. I carry it in my assault vest, too big for pocket.

I really wanted to like this knife as I wanted a large Cold Steel serated blade, however right out of the box it was obvious that it wasn't 6" 5.5 at Best. It is super stiff and not easy to flip open unlike the Ti-lite or Luzon. Pictures of it next to the 6" Luzon. The handle is nice and the blade looks amazing, but it's smaller than advertised and doesn't open easily.
