I ordered the XL as suggested for waist 34-36 and it actually came in a bit looser than expected. But I do like these shorts. The material is obviously more like a windbreaker but it's not sandpaper. One thing I noticed is one pocket seems cut smaller at the opening than the other and it's a bit annoying trying to fit my hand in. Also the inside key pocket is a little too close to my crotch so I might just cut that pocket out. But what the shorts may lack in design quality they make up for in style; the red really pops more brightly than you see in the model pics. Also I love the drawstring on this which is large and soft with stretch -- not like some Walmart shoelaces or something. Overall for the price I would definitely recommend these shorts. Excited to hit the beach with them soon.
