Thank you for asking it. Unfortunately the sizes of the two batteries are different. They probably should have called them something else because it is confusing. Regular AA batteries will not fit in the battery holder. It is designed for Lithium Ion only. Having said that there are some great things to mention about Lithium Ion Batteries. They are getting more and more plentiful if you ever do need to replace them. Many battery supply stores carry them and you can order them on Amazon as well. As more and more items use themthey will become even more plentiful. Why are so many electronic items switching to Lithium Ion batteries? Well, they simply last a lot longer. That means a couple of different things. You don't have to charge them as often. To last a comparable amount of time you would need a lot more of the standard batteries. In an item like our headlamps it would make them too heavy for comfortable wearing. Because they are rechargeable and not all standard batteries are, you don't have to buy new ones all of the time saving you money, trips to the store, and aggravation/inconvenience when you run out. We include a Car charger, a Wall charger and even a USB charger so that no matter where you are it is likely that a source of power that you can use will be nearby. That is why so many electronic items are switching to Lithium Ion. Thank you again for the question. **Q: how can I get a manual or more information on timer capabilities, etc?** A: It operates from a photocell. (The transformer must be mounted outside.) AUTO position turns on when it gets dark and off when it gets light. It can also be set to turn on when it gets dark and then turn off either 4, 6, or 8 hours after it turns on. Those are the only settings. **Q: will this work for hyundai sonata 2006 3.3 V6 ?** A: It is not direct fit, you need to modify it to correct height. I’d say they can each light something up to the size a very small tree (8-10 foot range).The material of the light itself feels substantial and high quality. I tested some and they worked great but I am returning because I realize an angled light will be better for my application, rather than these which point straight up. Came with a non-waterproof transformer and pigtail type connection (with six wires joining into one wire which connects to the transformer). So from the pigtail you’ll need to add wire of the desired length for each light. Or forget the pigtail all together and attach to a separate wiring system. The unit is small enough that it fits inside of the existing fixture.
