Great
I think that this is a great phone. It arrived quickly and well packaged. I ordered this as a bit of a detox for my son who gets so easily distracted by all the trappings of his smart phone. This is the perfect solution - he can still do the basics and important things on this like access messages and calls but not get distracted by the Internet. The phone is so easy to use but I will say if you're buying this for someone who finds technology a challenge, it would be best for you to show them how it works as the instructions are printed in such a small font it's very difficult to read them. The phone has a good sized screen which is very clear. The battery life is brilliant too. It feels good and sturdy. The flip design is fab, my son really likes that. Overall, it's proving to be a big hit here so far!

Tough little mobile for technophobes
Mum finally talked Dad into carrying a mobile, so I picked up the AGM M8 for him and tested it myself on Saturday while we were patching the leaking shed roof. Nothing like a bit of drizzle to see if that IP68 talk is real, and yes, the thing cheerfully took a puddle to the face. The clamshell feels chunky in a reassuring way, big rubber corners and an actual tactile keyboard that even Dadโs sausage fingers canโt miss. And that 104dB speaker? Loud enough that my three year old covered her ears when Grandma rang to check on progress. Speed dial is a doddle to set up, err, easy, so Dad can ring me by holding 1 rather than scrolling through menus heโll immediately forget. I did push the SOS side key by accident once, the alarm sounded like a reversing lorry but at least we know it works. Menus are a bit labyrinthine and the camera is, letโs be polite, vintage, otherwise cracking bit of kit.

Poor quality
I really wanted to like this phone felt like a smartphone detox and remember flip phones fondly, however I don't think I've ever had one as bad as this considering this phone is aimed at an elderly market it's not very user friendly it arrived with the main language being set to German the instruction book is printed so small that it's almost impossible to read. The couple of people that I called to try this out said that it sounded like I was underwater very muffled. And as for the camera I appreciate its only 2 megapixel but I've had plenty of Nokia's that will take a good picture this is totally unusable to the point where you have a job to recognize what you've photographed. Really really disappointed and sending it back.

Excellent flip mobile phone
Love this flip phone,it takes me back to the first one i had. Buttons are nice and large and itโs easy to hear with it. Over ยฃ80 seems quite a lot but itโs a quality phone.

Simple to use, handy charging dock for easier charging, very poor camera
I picked this up for my father who wanted a nice simple phone to use - he struggles with his iPhone so I thought this may suit him better. We didn't anything particularly smart, just phone calls and SMS, anything else is a bonus! Set up is basically non existent except for inserting a SIM card and setting the date and time (and perhaps a full charge of the battery). Once that's done, it's good to go. It is nice and loud, easy to hear it ringing from several rooms away. Buttons are nice and big, backlit too. Has a handy torch with a dedicated button on the side. It can even play back MP3 and MP4 files from a MicroSD card which is nice, though it doesn't play well with all file formats. The SOS feature is nice though not something we really need - I have programmed my number in to ring when the SOS button is pressed.. hopefully pocket dialling doesn't occur too much! I do like the fact that it can be docked to charge - great for those that don't (or can't) bend down to connect a cable - you just slot it in and will start charging. It still does have a Type-C port though if you want to charge it with a cable but I did find that it is a very tight fit and my usual Type-C cable was just a bit too big to fit. The OS is very basic - there's no internet browsing, no emails, no WhatsApp, no games - great for a digital detox! With all the positives, there are negatives: 1 - The camera is very poor. Very grainy, terrible low light. It would not even pass 10 years ago. 2 - The price is very high considering how very basic it is. The same price can get you a very low budget Android that outperforms this in every way. Is it good value for money? I'd say not really. If you're after something super basic, this will do the job, but I just cannot justify the cost.

Okay, but practically no instructions
Due to cognitive impairment, father struggle with his smartphone. I set this up to hopefully function as a landline and a mobile feature phone. Yes, he can listen to music on it and take photos but basically he just wants it as a phone. I will just mention that someone said they can look at WhatsApp on it โ you can't. You can't download apps. In a nutshell, the instructions are rubbish. I had to ask AI how to do a lot of of the functions. Sometimes it was correct. However, once it's set up, it functions quite well. I would say that if you set it up for a senior they might do well with this, but don't just give them the box. Pros: It's rugged, it's waterproof, it's chunky and easy to hold, the numbers are nice and big, the screen is big and bright, it's got memory functions, pa can take it round to the corner shops with him, the ring is loud. I can set this up in its cradle, as a faux landline on the telephone table. Useful tip for seniors: keep it permanently plugged in on a timer so it recharges itself. You can program the SOS button on the side to your phone number or emergency services. The owner cannot get the SIM card out, cover it in hand cream and replace it backward--which is always a bonus. Cons: There are practically no instructions, and what there are a tiny so that I you needed the magnifying glass. It doesn't actually tell you what some of the navigation buttons are for, although it is fairly intuitive. You can't switch off the annoying clunk as it closes. You only have two choices of ringtone. Both annoying. Tips: The on switch is the RED switch. And you have to press it for quite some time before the thing comes on. You have to unscrew the screw on the back of the phone AND pry it open to get the battery in. You can switch off the annoying key stroke noise by going into the Settings menu and switching it to silent. 1 Go to Menu > Settings > Sound. 2 Scroll down until you see Keypad tone (or Keytone). 3 Select it and switch it to Off or Silent. 4 Press OK to confirm. To set the memory functions, you need to go into settings and find Speed dial. 1 Press the main Menu button and navigate to Settings. 2 Scroll down and select Speed Dial. 3 Choose the button you want to change (M1, M2, or M3). 4 Select Edit, type in the new name and number, and hit Save. This is okay โ it's doing the job, but I didn't find the set up as easy as I would've liked.
