Daikin MCB50YSAU Room Air Purifier for Home, HEPA, Activated Carbon, Pre-Filter and UVC LED Light, Zero Ozone Product, CARB Certified, 10.5 x 10.5 x 19.5 in

This review is based on the Model MCB50YSAU Initially, being unfamiliar with the manufacturer/brand, I was going to pass on purchasing. Then after reading reviews and comparing the specs of this unit to the specs other purifier's in its price range, I took shot & made the purchase. SO GLAD I DID! I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with this unit. I have been running my unit 24/7 since the day I got it 4 months ago. My unit has been performing flawlessly since the day I got it. Improved the air quality immediately after plugging in and powering on. There is no unnecessary bells and whistles. No fancy lights, no glowing displays, no place to add scented oils, no Bluetooth, no Wi-Fi requiring an app to fully function and no remotes to lose. Just a PURE, SIMPLE, RAW AIR PURIFIER. The build and quality is top notch. Has an industrial feel & look to it. Currently the normal price of this machine is $100, it’s WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! This unit looks and performs like a purifier that would cost 3 times as much. Okay, this part is HUGE for me, others, probably not as much. I MUST have white noise when I sleep. Use to have a fan running at night, (even in winter) so I could sleep. Then discovered using my kids dehumidifier (without water because I wasn’t using it for dehumidifying purposes) also worked great for the white noise I needed. Now, good quality, higher end air purifier’s noise levels, typically are silent to low. This unit has accomplished that with the 3 settings (high,med&low) all which perform with a low noise level. Then, there is a 4th setting, this setting is like a “turbo mode” which like instantly scrubs the air. In this mode, the unit is louder, as should be expected considering the performance level in this mode. If I had to guess, I would say this mode is intended for extreme conditions. Let’s say you accidentally burnt something in the oven, or if your a smoker, a time when intense air purification is needed. For me though, this setting gives me my much needed white noise at night so I can sleep. This setting is what I RELY on every night for good nights rest. This was an unexpected feature I discovered after purchasing and using the purifier. This was the icing on the cake for me! Also, I love how accurate and responsive the sensors perform that indicate odor and particle's that are currently in the air. This is displayed by a simple LED light on the front of the machine. After doing quite a bit of research on air purifiers of this class, I am confident in saying that this is definitely the best bang for your buck. The look and performance of this machine makes it hard to believe it the price is only $100. Amazing value for your money. I cannot say enough good things about this machine. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this purifier. If you are in the market for an air purifier of this class, definitely give this one a shot, you will not regret it.

I have been using Invisiclean air purifiers since the pandemic started and they are good, but they don't do anything about persistent odors and don't trap much dust. I was surprised how filled up my vaccuum bags were even with them running 24/7. I finally gave up and got this Daikin air purifier and in ONE DAY it took the stink out of a storage room that the Invisiclean never could. I had also tried UV/ozone lamps in that room and got the carpet professionally cleaned, tried carpet powder, etc., and nothing worked. I think the difference here is that the Daikin model has a very large HEPA filter for dust and particles, and then a completely separate and large honeycomb shaped carbon filter just for trapping odors. It traps a lot of dust and has lights to show you when it detects dust, non-dust particles, and odors too so you can really get a feeling of what the air quality is like. It's relatively quiet, I have to set it to level 2 to sleep but at levels 3 and 4 it moves way more air at the expense of being louder. The build quality is fantastic (Daikin is a Japanese company) and the unit is easy to use and feels sturdy. It has a UV feature for cleaning the air but this turns on somewhat infrequently unless you manually turn it on, but then it auto disables. I think this is improve the lifetime of the UV light bulb and to reduce overheating, but I wish it could run continuously. I still have a few other Invisiclean units in the house I'll keep using, but once they stop working I'll definitely switch over to this Daikin air purifier. It's just a whole different level of quality.

I realized all hotel rooms in Japan have this or Sharp’s air purifier/humidifier combos during my recent trip there. Since this is smaller and cheaper than Sharp’s, as well as Daikin is a good reputation for air purifiers in Japan, I took chance and purchased this. As soon as I turned it on, I felt no statics, easier to breath. The noise is pretty low, nice shape, easy to use. The size fits to my 2 bedroom apartment. Highly recommended.

This is my first air purifier and knowing nothing about them, I found this one while researching purifiers. Was on sale also so even better pricing. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles with a smart app or anything like that but that’s not really needed. It just works. Easy to set up, the filter refills are decently priced and it does have lights letting you know if it’s detecting air particles or smells as it’s actively leaning it. Can run on a picked speed or set to auto run. And is so quiet that when I first set it up I had to kneel down and check if it was actually running. I would recommend this product.

Great air purifier. I bought one direct from the company 3 months ago and it does a great job. When looking for replacement filters on here I found the same model I already had. I bought 2 more. There are multiple quarries and cement mills near me, so dust is a huge problem, add in horrible allergies and air purifies are an absolute must. I've used smaller air purifiers in the past and the filters clogged up so fast. This unit has a fine mesh on 2 two sides that catches large particles before it has a chance to get to the replaceable filter. I vacum it several times a week. There is also a carbon fikter and UV light to kill germs. At 3 months I haven't had to replace the hepa filter yet. The small ones I replaced every month if I got lucky. Also added bonus you can dim / turn off the indicator lights so I can run it all the time. I need dark to sleep so the old ones would get turned off at bed and hopefully if I remembered turned back on during the day. Just to update, bought 2 more for other rooms and am still very happy with the purchase. By far the best air purifier I've ever owned. We just replaced the HEPA filter for the 1st time after 6 months on the first unit we bought. There is a sensor that tells you when you need to replace it. I vacuum the outside air intakes several times a week, so I'm sure that helps.

This is my first air purifier and I’ve been really happy with it. It runs quietly, and I noticed a big difference in the air almost immediately — especially with dust. I haven’t been sneezing since I started using it, so it’s definitely catching whatever was triggering my sinuses and rhinitis. The build feels solid, the filters do their job, and it’s been a simple, reliable unit overall. For anyone dealing with allergies or wanting cleaner air at home, I’d recommend it.

Purchased this size for use in my bedroom, it is just an air purifier. Love e automatic setting. Keeps the air clean and I promotes healthier sleep environment in my opinion plus I don’t have to dust as often!

This air purifier is quiet. Easy to use and the price is good. Best of all, I sneeze less now and have less eye itch and a stuffy nose.
