I decked out my whole controller for a fun project and the back buttons work great. Binding process is super easy and I haven't even gotten to other games to try using different profiles. Feels good, smoothly comes out of the body of the controller, feels more solid than paddles, and even with the extra material sticking out the back it's not intrusive in the slightest with perfect positioning. The material feels like a soft vinyl and is very comfortable to hold. It doesn't get slippery when a more moist gamer gets swampy with it.I'm a professional repair technician so I'm familiar with the soldering but as a warning it could be somewhat difficult for some people. eXtremeRate continues to make the best gaming mods in the industry and I absolutely love this one.

I'm fairly proficient with a soldering iron and this was seemingly easy enough to install, but I had to resolder 5 times before it finally started working. I installed this on the stock controller that came with my Series X and plan to use it as a backup controller in case my Elite V2 ever goes out.INSTALLATIONAfter my first solder attempt, the test board didn't light up at all but the front of the controller still worked fine. I assumed it was a bad test board as that seems to be pretty common with these kits and all of my solder joints looked good. I put it all together but the back buttons wouldn't work and the profile button wouldn't even light up for a self-test. I took it apart a handful of times and resoldered but still had the same issue. At this point I thought maybe the connector ribbon was bad.Right before submitting a refund, I decided to give it one more shot and make sure I put a little pressure on each of the solder points. That seems to have done the trick. This time everything lit up and I was thankful that soldering it 5 different times didn't completely ruin the board.The installation video is pretty easy to follow along with but I don't recall them having any section with instructions on what to do if you run into issues. Turns out their listing here on Amazon DOES have some tips which I wish I had seen before as it mentions rechecking the P2 and TP35 solder points.FUNCTIONALITYThe back cover and buttons line up really well. I decided to use the original side rails since they are textured but the side rails they provide seem to be of good quality. My main complaint would be that the back cover has a different feel to it than the stock controller. It has a soft feel to it with no texture but it's not too bad. It feels like an anti-slip material though.The back buttons themselves are very clicky. Some will prefer that and others won't but regardless, the click makes them louder than expected.As someone that uses an Elite V2 controller on the regular, the back button placement isn't ideal. This shouldn't be an issue if you only plan to use two of the buttons since your fingers will naturally gravitate towards the bigger bottom buttons. Without actual paddles though, it is difficult to use 4 fingers on the back. I found that it was much better to just angle your finger off the bottom button to hit the smaller upper buttons if you need to use them.FINAL THOUGHTSI chose the Victor remap kit over the Hope kit because this one comes with the ability to have 6 different profiles. In that regard, it works beautifully and I've not had any issues swapping profiles or remapping buttons. The back button placement isn't great but I could clearly see that from the product listing images and can't really dock them a star for that. I only use 2 paddles on my Elite so it's not a huge issue for me since my fingers naturally rest on the bottom buttons with this kit.I will however dock a star for the installation process. eXtremeRate does indeed state that the process is difficult but doesn't provide clear instructions in their installation video on what you should do to troubleshoot if there are problems. I had soldered everything nice and clean and nothing would work, including the test board. After 5 solder attempts, everything looks quite a bit messier under the hood but it seems to work as advertised now. Just make sure you preheat the solder point for a second and put a tiny bit of pressure on it before adding your solder.After successfully completing the installation, I think there's definite room for improvement for future iterations. The provided cables feel pretty fragile and could be beefed up a bit. They could also provide a bit of tape since they ask you to tape various things down while installing the kit. I'd also suggest a change in button placement and size to more closely mimic the Elite controller. If they made the back buttons a bit shorter with a more horizontal shape, I think it would work so much better. Making the buttons themselves a bit quieter would be great too, but this may be something I can do with a slight modification.I plan on modifying my nephew's controller so I'll likely be buying more eXtremeRate kits soon. I may go with the Hope remap kit next time but wouldn't have any issue buying the Victor remap kit again, if needed.

Requires soldering, if you don't know or are a beginner at soldering i do not recommend. But the final product is phenomenal and works great. Especially for the remapping and and the 7 different profiles you can create

I am thoroughly impressed by the quality and thought put I to this kit.Installation is simple, but not for the faint of heart.You do need soldering skills and equipment to install this. Fit and finish of this kit is top notch and the feel for the buttons is spectacular.If you have patience, soldering equipment, and the skills to do so then this kit is a must have to take a basic Xbox controller to the pro leagues.Well done, eXtremeRate.

The media could not be loaded. Whole process was pretty good, tutorial on YouTube was AMAZING however as said in my video 11 of the lights on my tester were dead on arrival. This led me to spend a lot of time resoldering and possibly making it worse, as the orange strip you're soldering can bubble up and firm bubbles inside it. However after reading the reviews on another product of theirs, realized the tester itself is probably bad. Ended up putting it together loosely, and testing it with the tester included on the software in the controller and showed all good with no issues. Mapped all the buttons to check that everything was working and used the online controller tester to make sure every button was mappable and sure enough, it was all correct and working. Great product, only complaint is the buttons sound a bit loud and high pitched as there's no rubber between the button and the back button but otherwise great especially for the price.

Takes some soldering experience, but was pretty straight forward. All the holes on the soft board match up with the ones on the original PCB. Add a little solder and everything works. This kit, as stated, does not add new buttons; it only allows the original buttons to be remapped. A lot less expensive than spending $180 on a new controller. I have some experience in electronics repair.

works great and isn’t hard to install at all. took about 20 mins to install completely and works perfectly.

So far the kit works great! I’m a novice when it comes to soldering, but I was able to follow the instructional video on YouTube easily and had the kit installed within an hour. All of the buttons work fine and I was able to easily get them mapped to my desired layout. The only down sides I’ve experienced thus far are that the prying tool is very flimsy and almost didn’t work for prying off the sides on my controller, and the K1 and K3 buttons have more give than I would prefer. K2 and K4 feel solid! Would definitely buy this kit again if I ever had the need.

La instalación es igual al HOPE map kit, el unico inconveniente de esta marca es que el material del plastico es facil que se marquen las huellas y de sienta grasoso en veces, me hubiera gustado que saliera en el mismo color que mi Control Remix pero hasta este punto me agrada todo, los botones estan un poco mas arriba que el anterior kit pero es caso de acostumbrarme. Saludos!Edit: Volví a comprarlo en color Blanco, belleza y elegancia 🤌 Actualización 2/10/2024: En el color blanco con muy poco uso se termina agarrando un tono amarillento, y no se ha usado con la manos sucias, creo que es la queja mas preocupante, no es un control que puedas mantener blanco :c (ya intenté con muchos productos limpiarlo pero no funcionó).

***Edit***Extremerate contacted me and sent me a remplacement board, good to see they stand behind their product! i really like the back button and they seem to work well, nice addition to the regular controller 👍*old reviews*Soldering went well but the "clip" that hold the 2 board together was broken, and i saw that after soldering everything on the controller so now i dont know what to do with it... disappointing quality for the price

Der Einbau erfolgte etwas schwerer al anfangs gedacht da man kleine Punkte löten muss ich würde da eine etwas kleinere lötspitze für empfehlen Produkt an sich ist aber sehr gut und ich hatte nichts zu meckern auch der grip ist gut die Tasten reagieren schnell alles in allem ein solides Produkt
