Emerson 70 Series, Non-Programmable, Heat Pump (2H/1C) Thermostat

This has just basic functionality - just on or off, heat or cool, 2nd stage heating/emergency heat, or fan only. Not all HVAC systems have all of those, but this can handle them if they do. And that's all I need. The instructions were simple and straight forward, but limited. If you have never installed or changed one out, the included instructions won't teach you (they refer you to hire a professional). But all thermostat manuals do pretty much the same thing. The only manuals I've seen that have more are for thermostats that have 5 or 7 day programming, WiFi, or apps for your phone. This thermostat has none of that and I personally don't need it.If your HVAC system has a "C" wire, that's good and it will power this thermostat. I've heard that some systems don't have a "C" wire but I've never seen one (I'm not an HVAC pro and have only owned or worked on three systems). This will work with systems without a "C" wire because it can operate on two AA batteries and some good alkaline batteries come in the box. If the power goes out then the batteries act as a backup for the "C" wire to keep your display working and save your temperature settings.If you don't need all the bells and whistles of WiFi, apps, and 5 or7-day programming, it's hard to go wrong with this model. Especially since it also includes a 3-year warranty. 5 stars and highly recommended.

This thermostat took a little bit of time to arrive. It was nicely boxed with information on compatibility with gas, oil, or electric systems. The controls are ultra easy and uncomplicated, unlike many on the market today that seem to want to be their own little command centers. It worked well for an elderly person to easily understand and maneuver the system.The controls include arrows to adjust temperature, one for fan, on, or auto, and one for cool, off, heat, or auxiliary.It was easy to install into an existing thermostat spot, and even includes a little built-in level to ensure proper alignment.Nice simple system for those who don't want the bluetooth style of units.

I ordered the Emerson 70 Series, Non-Programmable Thermostat to replace a broken programmable thermostat on my second floor hallway. My house is 3 floors but has a small, compact footprint. Each floor has its own heating zone. Because the house is so compact, I keep the heat really low on the third floor which is a great room and usually keep the heat off on the second floor so I just needed a simple thermostat to adjust the heat for when I periodically turn it on. I will turn the heat on for the second floor when I'm working from home and I need to get the bedrooms and office up to temperature. This thermostat meets my needs perfectly. Simple to install and simple to use. Be aware that it doesn't come with a mounting plate but you shouldn't have any problem mounting it on the wall with the included hardware.

Our old thermostat definitely needed this upgrade and it’s worked wonderfully. I didn’t need a programmable one so this fit the bill.It was easy to install even for me who’s never changed out a thermostat before.I most like the digital display as our old one wasn’t digital so I wasn’t able to get the temp set at exactly what I wanted. I know I was off a bit as slid the old ones switch but always did the best I could.Very happy with this and recommend for a simple but effective thermostat. It has a solid body and the display is easy enough for me to read with the backlight it has.

This is a nice replacement thermostat. I especially like the blue backlight. It is very easy to read and install.

This 70 Series Non-Programmable Heat Pump Thermostat is easy to install. It handles 2-stage heating and 1-stage cooling (2H/1C) efficiently. The straightforward design makes it user-friendly. Overall, it's a reliable and convenient thermostat for managing your home's temperature.

I will say it was easy to install. It does keep the proper temperature. It is very basic, you would expect at least a couple of features for the high price. It does function properly though.

this Non-Programmable, Heat Pump (2H/1C) Thermostat is well made, working great. I use it for my house to replace my 25 years old Thermostat and I like the basic of it, no complicate features to remember and that's all I need.
