I was looking for a heavier lump hammer for work after my old gave up on me. I'm a bit tight when it comes to buying tools in that I don't really like having to buy them,so I went for this one in the belief that it would last a lot longer than my last one. First impressions are good it looks extremely well made and feels good whilst using it, but will take some getting used to with it being a lot heavier than my old one

I've had the same Estwing claw hammer for about 35 years, so these tools are made to last. My 4lb hickory shafted lump hammer developed a wobbly head, so it was time to replace it. The head on this is a bit narrower and more elongated than a standard lump hammer, so be aware of this before you buy. It wasn't a problem for me, I always wear impact resistant gloves when doing serious hammer work. Should last a lifetime. Comes coated in metallic blue paint and a clear lacquer, which is going to get scuffed, but it's a hammer, right? It's for hitting and smashing things, not posing with.

The best quality hammer out there great balance will last a life time great purchase.

I've had this hammer since 2014, it has seen much abuse on site (steel erecting) and I an still productively using it. Reccomended! Update: as of July 2021, the hammer is still going strong! Cannot praise it enough!

I ordered this because I wanted the 4lb heavier hammer, but when it came it had a narrow elongated head instead of the usual compact head, so be warned, CHECK the dimensions before you buy, I think the elongated head is about 13 cm the compact one is about half this size.

Fantastic mini sledge hammer. Four pounds of wedge mashing goodness. I use this hammer when splitting wood. Very useful, and compact design. I like that the head & neck were forged as one piece, so no chance for the head to fall off with extreme use.

If youre a welder, this is the one you want. You will not brake this hammer. It has the perfect handle length and weight to really smash some things and the build quality is second to none. You could probably hand it down to your kids when you retire.
