Excellent book with lots of info. Mainly for the American versions of the car, with little if any regional info, so if you live in Japanb or Europe, you may have to suppliment it from other sources.

Very big, well written manual. Based on USA versions of the model but UK 730i versions are same except for some engine layouts and other items may be found on the off side!

excellent informative guide to understanding/servicing this car, particularly when similar information seems unavailable in book form. Well worth the money. Only comment is the need to double check some component locations(mainly electrical) due to this manual being american (left hand drive vehicles). I still have no intentions of servicing this car due to bmw making it virtually "dealer only servicing", but it allows a greater understanding of the complexities of this car, and allows discussions with servicing agents on more of their level.(just as it says on the cover). Should someone be inclined, this book would allow comprehensive servicing and maintenance to be carried out. Top marks.

provides a good level of detail with instructions and illustrations to carry out pretty much any maintenance task you can think of on an E38. even if you only use it to carry out your own oil services and inspections I/II, it will pay for itself very quickly.

so much better than a Haynes manual - but then again - so much more expensive too - money well spent

Okay alors pour tout ceux qui Cherche la revue technique du série 7 en 740 et 750 e38 v8 et v12 c’est celui là , très complet, très détaillé, un vrai pavé de savoir et qui est moins cher ici que l’import des US , dailleur les 30% de fin du bouquin son l’es schéma elec en détailler , j’y ai mis un peu plus de 100e pour refaire un 740IL mais pas déçu

As far as I can tell, this manual is the only one available for the (740iL) BMW, and it is broad in its coverage and well written with many illustrations. For these reasons, I am giving it five stars. However, it was over-kill for my level of expertise. Although the manual provides vital information--it is an excellent reference source to let me know exactly what is involved--I probably won't be able to use much of that information as a practical, nuts and bolts how-to-repair book. And maybe it is better that way because the BMW is an expensive, complex, computerized vehicle that requires more than a set of tools and a Haynes repair manual--simple things that will usually suffice for work on my old Toyota. If this manual can prevent inadvertantly damaging an expensive BMW mechanical part or (gasp!) $$$computer, then it is well worth the $81 purchase at Amazon.

This is just what you've come to expect from a Bentley manual. Sure... YouTube is great, but having a well written/organized reference in print is super helpful.

Für die BMW 750 740 e38 ein Werkstattbuch wo man auch findet wo welche Klammern , Schrauben usw. versteckt sind . Leider nur in Englisch aber man gewöhnt sich dran .Sehr detailliert mit vielen Bildern .Jedoch beim Motor sind die Bilder mit Schwerpunkt 740 ausgewählt so das der 750 manchmal mit einer Zeichnung auskommt.Das Buch ist 2. Wahl das heißt 40% billiger ansonsten keine sichtbaren Mängel .Das Buch ist in Schaltplänen top . Jedes Modell Baujahr , Ausstatung .

The instructions are detailed, and were sufficient to guide me through my very first (ambitious) car repair: completely removing the dashboard, center console and IHKA, replacing the corroded heater core pipes, and putting everything back together. This exact repair is not listed in detail though. And I didn’t realize that removal of the heater core cover while the IHKA is still in the car is a lot of unnecessary work if you’re taking the entire thing out anyway... so following the book to the letter isn’t always advisable. ;)A word of warning not given by the book: label all cables and plugs, before you unplug anything or remove any zip ties holding cables in place. I had to re-connect 65 electrical connectors, and had to figure out where each strand of cables needed to be routed. Labels would have kept me from feeling like Sherlock Holmes at times...Also, the book only gives you the instructions in the direction of disassembly. So make sure you write down the order in which you work on each book section, so you can back-trace in the proper order when putting things back together.However, this is not a flaw of the book, so I’m not detracting any stars for it - there’s simply no good way to represent this sort of instructions in both directions in a book, as many different types of repair will lead to the same chapter along the way, and listing them all at the beginning of each chapter would be impractical...
