Why We Are Born: Remembering Our Purpose through the Akashic Records Paperback – June 14, 2014

At this point in my life, I've read a jillion books in this genre, so I reluctantly delved into Why We Are Born for my book group. I can't believe how profoundly this book has impacted me! The author's voice is direct and straightforward and her revelations about the nature of our existence and the life of the soul struck me as completely accurate and has given me so much comfort and understanding about life and love and the care of the soul. (I’m a Course in Miracles student and a beginning Zen Buddhist and everything the author reveals here is congruous and compatible with my beliefs and experience, which is very reassuring somehow - I know, that’s my ego looking for corroboration!). At any rate, the book is straightforward and easy to read and understand, so I will no doubt buy more and gift them to the other spiritual seekers in my life.

This book has significantly changed my outlook on life in a positive way. It is as if so much general anxiety about life was all of a sudden purged from me. For my entire life I had always been wondering about such philosophical questions as where do we come from, what is the purpose of life, why is there so much evil in this world, etc. As a kid, I recall one day I prayed to God that he not let me leave this lifetime without having shown me the meaning of life, and 20 years or so later, I have finally started finding answers! I am sure Akemi was chosen by Him to be my very first medium, and I am so grateful for that. She explains so many philosophical concepts so easily in such simple terms and analogies that several times I literally got goosebumps at feeling my mind opening up. It's the best investment of my life, literally.Now, I cannot get enough of this spirituality subject; I read nothing but books on it. And how do I know all of this stuff is true? Because all books so far coincide, no contradictions. Akemi is indeed one of the gifted angels who work hard and selflessly to reach into the higher dimensions of the universe for our well-being, bringing back celestial messages of love and peace from higher beings.I recommend this book with all the enthusiasm in the world. And once you're through with it, I suggest you follow it up with her novel series: "I Remember You".

Prior to reading the book, I've believed in its contents already. It was well written and the use of "avatars" and game simulation were probably good tools for introducing the concept to someone. While, I've never read about this topic, what I already know to be true is contained in the pages of this book. The book offered a tremendous amount of insight into the way I think and feel. The author is very well informed and offers many scenarios and resources for learning more about why we are here. That said, the book made me anxious while reading it. I was afraid that my own peace would somehow be compromised by the author's superior knowledge and that I would have to now re-think myself. I enjoyed the book and I'm happy that the author shared her wisdom and knowledge and thinking it could compromise my own peace, is ridiculous. My advice to anyone and everyone is to read this book. Break free from the norm and explore the universe...

This is generally a really good book. I thoroughly enjoyed the first half. Some of her concepts are very enlightening. The second half I thought she moved from interesting, innovative thought into basic self help stuff most people have heard many times. Her writing is clear and understandable. I'd say get a copy and read it. If you find yourself in areas that you've tread many times before in the latter half, stop reading. You've got the point and it won't get back to innovating thinking later on.

What a lovely book!! The author has a very sweet and easy to digest writing style that I truly enjoyed. There are things in this book that I've never thought about before and were quite profound to me. I've always believed in the idea that we are all one, but more in a passive "oh that's nice" sort of way. The author really drives this point home and now I have a better understanding of just how significant this is. It has put me in a state of true genuine awe. This book came to me at a time I would call my, "searching". It changed my life and in the years since has become more real to me than I ever imagined. From a mere layperson to now an Akashic Record Practitioner, I can speak to the complete truth of the words written here. You, my friend, read this book. Keep searching, keep learning, keep loving. Your truth awaits.

Have absorbed it twice and will go through it again. I might as well just Hilite the entire book. Akemi writes like a Zen Master and even though I have read many books on the subject of reincarnation, Karma and spiritual healing, no one has ever written as clearly as Akemi did in this book. Even if you have never studied the subjects or placed any emphasis on the technicalities or reasons of life you will enjoy this book immensely. Thank you teacher Akemi for opening my spiritual understanding with your easy to read style.

Really Enjoyed this book. It was an Easy Read lots covered but in a very Straight Forward way unlike some similar books. Have recommended to friends. I like the larger Print too

This book will help you mainly if you are finding yourselves in a difficult time of your life. It will help you to see your problems less seriously and it will make you understand why we have problems.

This book guided me on a journey through the answers to the questions I thought I had about life, and so much more. Such an exploration, gently revealing truths that left no stone unturned.It felt like I was continually remembering deep truths along the way; often in awe and wondering, "who is this person? Is there actually 'a person' or am I reading the words directly provided to me, at this time, from my Soul."An insightful and engaging read that I found very difficult to put down.Great work.Thank you.

it is such a wonderful book explaining vedanta in most practical way one can practice. It is definitely best spiritual book. The approach of author to explain subtle detail is laudable. I got better understanding about Nadi astrology, for which i am a enthusiast and subject and object for 2 decades. Recommend this book to serious sadhakas
