I read a lot of technical books, manuals, and documentation. I also work with a lot of tiny parts. The blurry vision caused by eye strain can get pretty bad by the end of the day. Having more light in a room seems to reduce the level of eyestrain noticeably. I've also noticed that brightly-lit rooms seem to raise my energy levels, so I recently decided to upgrade the amount of light in every room of my house. Like many people, I prefer indirect lighting because the light is more evenly spread throughout the room, greatly reducing dark shadowed areas. I decided to get torchiere lamps so I could bounce the light off the ceilings. Then, I started browsing Amazon. That's how I came across these lamps. When I saw how these lamps are assembled, I knew I had to have them. There is no wired connection between each segment of the central tube. Instead, there are electrical contacts hidden inside the ends of the tubes which only complete the circuit when the tubes have been tightly threaded together. I immediately wondered if you could leave out one segment on some lamps to make them shorter while adding an extra segment in other lamps to make them taller. I emailed questions to the seller who was incredibly helpful. He pointed out that the compact base was going to be significantly less stable if an extra section of height was added. He saw no problem making shorter lamps, though. So, I decided to go with these lamps. I'm VERY glad I did. I even waited a few weeks in order to get the warm white light combined with a silver lamp. That combination was brand new and still being manufactured. The seller kept me updated on Amazon availability. As soon as they appeared, I ordered 4 of them. When the lamps arrived, they worked exactly as I had hoped they would. I have a granite desk surface wrapped around 3 of the walls in my hobby room. This layout means usable floor space is at a premium. I left out one segment of the tubing when assembling two of the lamps and placed them on top of that desk surface. The height was perfect and these lamps are really bright. My hobby room transformed from a poorly-lit dungeon to a brightly-lit high-tech laboratory. These are awesome for use as desk lamps when one segment is removed! I was hooked. In the living room, I used those extra tube sections leftover from the short lamps I put on my desk surface to add height to a couple of extra lamps for my living room which has 9ft. ceilings. I tested these ~8 ft. tall lamps and found the seller was right. The lamps were easily tipped over. So, I bought some chrome-plated 10LB weightlifting plates and added one on top of each base. This is only possible because there is no cord running between the sections of the center tube assembly. Simply unscrew one section and slide the weight over the tube. Adding 10 LBs to the base worked really well, keeping those extra tall lamps perfectly stable. I think it also looks pretty cool. I liked these lamps so much, I ordered 4 more a week later. I put those next to the workbenches in my garage workshop. All of these lamps are attached to WiFi switch modules so they can be turned on or off by voice using Alexa. When the switch turns them on, they always revert to full brightness, which is exactly what I wanted. The light output is just about perfect - not too bright or too dim. I don't think it's quite 5000Lm but it is definitely bright enough to make a huge difference in any room. I have several super bright desktop LED task lights which cost 3x as much as these, yet they put out the same amount of light. I'm very pleased with these lamps. Highly recommended.

This is such an amazing lamp for the price. If you rent and need to adjust the poor lighting, this makes a huge, huge difference. The design is sleek and simple and the lighting options are amazing, you can dim it or make it brighter. If you are an artist and work at night or have a poorly lit kitchen this one lamp will make your space much more user friendly. It is revolutionary and I intend to get more of them! The bottom is weighted and comes with scratch pads to protect your floors, the parts just screw easily in together, and it does not take up too much space. Love this lamp!

It is great, very bright, directional and 12 inches taller than most (you can leave one piece out if you prefer shorter since there is not "wire"). I would recommend this as a reasonably priced light that is appealing for most settings except is you are a light sensitive sleeper. The ON/OFF switch is a blue light which cannot be turned off and if you are light a light sensitive sleeper that might be an issue. I turned it to the wall and it reflects the shape of the switch on the wall. Its as bright as a LED night light.

1 year and 6 months later the lamp just stopped working. Tried it a couple times a day for a week. Then one day it lit up. Then it stopped working altogether. Expect to pay around $100 every year and a half if you want this model lamp. It is very, very nice and modern looking for the year-and-a-half that it lasts. BTW I live by myself so I'm sure it didn't have any "accidents" from other people in the house. Just stopped working one day.

I bought this to replace an aging 300W halogen lamp. Most of the other lamps I looked at were not very bright. I wanted something which would give off as much light as my current lamp. They claim it will output 5000 lumens. I'm not sure if that's accurate or not, but testing this side by side with my old lamp, it's definitely as bright, if not more so, than my halogen fixture. I chose the 3000K option and I'm glad I did. It seems to be just the right color. I think the natural daylight version would have been too white of light. Even so, it appears whiter than the halogen which is probably 2700K or maybe even less. I have a Kill-A-Watt device to measure current draw and I plugged each of the lamps into it to compare. My old fixture shows up as using 283 watts, which is just under the 300 watt rating of the bulb. This new lamp only draws 27 watts. That's over a 90% decrease in power usage!! This was the cheapest fixture which would produce a decent amount of light. Most other fixtures were either not bright enough or cost a lot more. This is a great lamp for the price and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Finally, a replacement for the once ubiquitous halogen torchiere (I still have one, working after many dimmer and bulb replacements). We're furnishing a new house, and I bought one to see how it worked - I was a bit concerned that the lighted rim would be too direct, but it's not at all annoying. The amount indirect of light it puts out is amazingly bright - I keep mine dimmed most of the time. And they look nice. It screws together in no time (make sure you put the bottom section on the bottom, though -- look for the tiny ac plug). One of the 4 that I bought had a defective locking part -- i.e., the head wouldn't stay locked in place. I emailed customer service and withing a couple of hours (on a Sunday night) I got a response and they had a replacement head DHL'd to me from China.

I bought this lamp because of the technology claim about controls conducted through the stand (pole) itself vs a cable that ran through it which is what I was replacing. But it doesn't work half the time. It plugs in at the bottom of the pole from an adapter that's plugged into a wall socket. But something is wrong; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If I unplug and re-connect the connector at the bottom, the connection is restored. Broken on arrival? Perhaps, but I spent a little more for better tech which apparently wasn't included with the product. When it works, I would note that dimming is in steps, not continuous and the lowest setting is still too bright for my kids to go to sleep. Mechanically, assembly was seamless

This floor lamp is light weighted, dimmable and sleek. The base is thin but very sturdy. My robot vacuum can go on to it to clean the base surface without problem. Well packed and super easy to assemble "them" (because I bought one more 2 weeks later 🤭 ) 5 minutes can set it up for sure. In the dark, I can see the blue light switch button clearly too. Well done. Love it Love it Love it.

This light exceeded my expectations. I have a fairly large living room and I’ve been searching for a light that would be bright enough. Some of the other reviews mentioning equivalent incandescent light bulbs had me worried. Maybe the quality has changed since those reviews, but this light is so bright I don’t keep it on the max brightness setting. Very happy with it and hope it lasts.

It's very easy to assemble, the electric cable is built in with the rod, no string flying inside the tube, the material is quite sturdy. There are similar products in the market and the price is far cheaper, but I think buying this one is smart as it is using better and stronger materials, hopefully it will last long and anyway it doesn't look cheap!
