She lives in sheltered housing and is not allowed anything with an actual flame otherwise it sets off a myriad of alarms! I was a bit dubious that they would look "candle like" but was proved wrong and they are lovely. Very warm and cozy looking and a very nice quality. The flicker is a piece of plastic that goes back and forth powered by a motor inside and unfortunately one has stopped working (not sure why as it still lights up) but to be honest it doesn't really notice as its at the back of the others. They are a good brightness and the battery life is reasonable (few months) considering she has them on every evening.
