Best Doll For Seniors With Alzheimer's Or Dementia
I initially showed my mom, who has both Alzheimer's and advanced Dementia, this doll and several others and asked if she wanted me to get her one, and she stated with no room for misunderstanding "NO!". 3 weeks later I had moved mom to her new memory care facility and then ordered this little girl for her. I thought this outfit was best, but I went ahead and bought her a newborn outfit at the big box store just in case. I was taken aback as I thought her 20" would be based on head to rump since her legs are pulled up and is mostly in this (like in the photo) or in a seated position, but she is measured from head to toe-fully stretched out. With that, I thought she might be a bit too small for mom and she'd say NO again. There was no vinyl smell on her at all and I was very thankful of that along with that and that she didn't have any squished or deformed body parts like another commenter said. The soft vinyl is truly soft, not squishy soft, but not like the hard baby dolls in the stores. I chose this one so that mom couldn't 'wash' her hair and potentially ruin it as I've seen on other dolls. Not saying this doll if the hair was rooted would come to that demise, but I want this doll to work for my mom in the best possible way. The face is like a real baby, could be slightly more round than slender, but she still looks lifelike. The details in her hands, the creases and folds in her palms and feet, the blush color on parts of her skin... amazing detail. I forgot to 'tattoo' mom's name on the doll when I arrived and asked the administrator (who were having a small drive to raise funds for the facility) was outside and took the doll out of the bag, and I shocked her and 2 others. I hadn't thought anything of it, but they literally thought I was taking a baby out of a shopping bag. Anyway, each one of them wanted to hold the doll. She was that life like! I took her in to meet mom, holding her as if she were a real baby as I was uncertain how mom would react. In to mom's room I went and showed her the doll and she was instantly in love with her. Instantly! The tiny most gentle of kisses were placed all over the dolls face and the sweet touches my mom did. I thought maybe she would just sit the doll on her bed with the 4 stuffed animals, but no. For the 4 hours I was with mom that day, this doll was in moms arms, being burped, or sat on a table in front of her with all the careful hand holds any new parent would have with their own live baby. Mom wouldn't share with any other senior saying no one had better try and take her or there would be h3ll to pay. So this was a very good fit for mom. Very good indeed. I left mom and went to a thrift store and bought her 6 outfits and a bouncer (those lightweight frame-type chairs babies lay in - not the seat that bounces up and down) and back to the memory facility I went. Tattooed mom's name on everything while she slept (with this doll gently wrapped in a blanket by my mom right by her bed). Placed the doll in the bouncer and put away her clothing. I called 2 days later and the facility administrator and nurse told me that they went out and bought 3 other baby dolls for the other seniors. They said initially mom was very protective of the doll and in the end after the 2nd day, she only let 1 other senior hold and cuddle the doll. The also told me mom doesn't do anything without this doll - nothing. All this to say, if you have a parent that has memory issues like my mom does, get them this doll. Although the facility went out and bought other dolls, I'm sure that they didn't get this one or similar. My guess is that since they got them in 2 days, it was from the box store and I'd already checked those out and they didn't come close to this detail. Maybe that doesn't matter in a beloved senior with Alzheimer's and/or Dementia, but my mom is worth it. I'll be getting another, a little boy. So that when I visit next weekend I'll take him with me so any other senior who wants to hold him, can. I'd love to share the utter happiness that can be seen on my mom's face beside her doll, but I don't think you'd understand or 'see' what I see so I won't. To you, she'd just be smiling; but there's a huge difference in how she normally smiles for people, generic photos and the happiness this doll brought her. Just think of the look and emotion when you held your newborn child or grandchild in your arms - THAT is what happens when my mom is with her doll; whether she's holding, dressing, swaddling or laying her doll down to sleep.

She is a gem!!
This darling, sweetheart is so cute! She has the most precious expression on her face. My favorite thing about her is that she looks so serene. Very peaceful. I use her as a therapy doll, but I think anyone would be lucky to have her. Her body (not arms/legs/face) is so soft and wonderful to hold. You can hug her. She has NO scent. NO smell. I am sensitive to that and would have to return her. But none of the reviews I read before I got her, mentioned any so I got her. I do not regret this purchase. She is so amazing-- the price you pay is a steal! She has some weight that really makes her feel like a baby. Her eyes-- wow-- they are unbelievably real looking. She has blue eyes, and the blue looks like human eyes, with flecks of different blues. They are more realistic. Her eyelashes are well laid on her lids, and she has little painted eyebrows and her hair as well. She has slight pudgy wrinkles under her eyes, which makes it look like her face is real, as if she has an expression on her face. And her mouth/lips look very natural. Her top lip is slightly over the other like she is sucking it. It’s darling. Her size is just right. I think your child will be able to hold onto her without her seeming too big. Her outfit is beautiful (a nice rosy pink) and the quality is unbelievable. It’s soft, pretty, easy to take off and the color just brings out her sweetness. Each hand is also in a different position, which allows your child to play with her in different ways. The fingers are full and beautiful, with some natural-looking wrinkles. And her nails on both hands are painted slightly with soft pink with white edges. Her cheeks have a slight tint, in a natural looking way. She can sit up IF she is propped up against the child or certain surfaces. One leg is bent a little higher, so it seems she was just moving. Not just both stuck in the same position. Her thighs are thicker at the top and bend at the knee with a rose blush there too. I can see some veins which are pretty impressive and her feet are the appropriate size. Her toes have some pink on the nails as well. All these details add the magic that she IS real-- especially to the eye of the holder, a child, an adult for therapy, a collector and I think she might be a great companion to someone who is elderly. When cradled, she has this innocent look in her eyes and is making eye-contact, which can foster real connection. I pretty much fell in love with her, when I picked her up. She can be held in many positions. I am actually going to purchase another of her. She’s just that rare. The picture in the advertisement just doesn’t do her justice. I hope this review helps. I only put this much time and attention to this review because I think she is THAT special. One thing***: her head has a little give. Don’t worry, it’s not falling off or moving too much in any direction. I think it allows her to be a bit more flexible when you hold her and play with her like a baby. Whomever you give this present to-- can play pretend and learn that babies need a little help. Due to this movement, the doll’s gaze doesn’t have to be only straight. Her neck is not completely frozen. Trust me, it’s not super flopsy. BUT*** if you think your child may just drag her around by the head/neck? She might not be the right doll. She does not come with rattles. If you look, they do not say they are included. She did come with a bottle and her magnetic pacifier worked. Again-- I am astonished with this little one. And I am an adult. I have named her Lacey. I would give her more stars if I could, in a heartbeat.

A beautiful, realistic, life like doll
Purchased as a gift for my grand daughter. Was very pleased with the quality and realistic appearance of this doll. It is a great value and looks so much like a real baby both in its life like size and characteristics (soft hair, rosy cheeks, tiny fingers, etc). A very realistic doll that any child would love to add to their collection!!

Beautiful, Realistic Doll That Brings My Mom So Much Joy
I purchased this little newborn boy doll for my mother, who has advanced Alzheimer’s, and it has brought her so much happiness. She absolutely loves babies, and now she has one of her own, she named him Jack! From the moment she laid eyes on him, she was completely in love. She holds him, talks to him, and smiles for hours. Sometimes Jack even goes on little outings with us, but most of the time he rests in his bassinet beside her chair when she’s not holding him. She worries about feeding him and praises what a good-tempered baby he is. The doll looks and feels realistic, with excellent quality and craftsmanship. He is smaller than a real baby, especially his head, maybe he is the size of a preemie. For the price, it’s an amazing value. Watching how much comfort and joy this “baby” brings to her has been absolutely priceless.

Not perfect, but excellent value and quite realistic!
Excellent value for the money! The plastic material is on the soft side, which adds to the realism, but does make it a little harder to get clothes on and off - they just kind of stick. Coloring is impressive! She looks very realistic, and the paint job is quite good! Without her clothes on, she’s a little funny looking, but all dolls kind of are - it’s just that she’s SO realistic except for her body. Where her head meets her body is a little floppy, which actually makes her feel extremely real when holding her. Accessories are cute - my daughter is obsessed with the magnetic binky! Especially for the price, I definitely recommend this baby doll!
