Not inexpensive, but worth it...
Do you really need a $1000 tool box? Probably not...but if you are going to make the investment in something you will have for a long time and want to add some organization to your shop/garage, this is a great place to start. First, this is a HUGE toolbox. I am only 5'-8", but I can just barely see into the very top section. Second, don't think you are going to move this thing around by yourself because it comes in two boxes -- one is 185 lbs., the other is 240 lbs.-- on a pallet. Lifting the smaller section onto the top of the base section by yourself is like doing the trapeze w/o a net. Third, it comes well-packed, all surfaces with scratch protection in place, drawer padding is precut and fits, the wheels are substantial and roll very well and have solid locking mechanism, and all the hardware fits snug and installs easily. It takes a good 30-45 minutes to remove all the scratch protection...so get mentally prepared for that task. And finally, while the drawers might have been made of a thicker gauge, they are still substantial and slide like butter to a very solid and positive closure.Again, I don't need a $1000 toolbox...but I can actually justify this as a sensible investment and is a good value in tool management.

Good at a discount price
Just picked one up at Costco in NJ for $599. Was expecting something a little more substantial. I was expecting to get a $1,000 tool chest at a discounted price. What I got was a tool chest that's worth what I paid, maybe even a little less.Although it is made of stainless steel, the material is somewhat thin. The drawers are not as sturdy as I would have expected them to be. There is plenty of play and they seem a little flimsy. They do not close all the way either. You have to use a little more force than necessary when closing them. The drawers seem to stop about 1/8 of an inch out, preventing you from locking the unit. You have to give the drawers a little push to get them completely closed, which causes the entire unit to move slightly. This is all while the unit is empty. It also has only a one year warranty, which to me means the manufacturer doesn't have much faith in the product.

The Depth of the Drawers
I love this tool chest. The drawers are all smooth and heavy duty, come with liners, and lock. I like that the top chest is full depth and width as to not waste the floor space that this takes up. I also like that the two locking wheels keep this solidly in place while you're tugging on the drawers. I also like that you can open the drawers with the top open or shut, which is not the case with some tool chests. One thing to take note about is that a lot of the drawers are very deep (height-wise), which means there are less drawers overall. I can see this being less than ideal for a person with purely auto mechanic's tools, and I was concerned about that as well. But for my collection of tools from every category that will reside in this chest, the various depths (heights) of drawers suits me very well, and I'm happy for that variation.Everyone says this, but that plastic that coats every piece of the chest is a pain. However, it's a pain well worth enduring; much worse would be to have it arrive scratched. I've had mine for a couple weeks, and still haven't taken it all off - mostly because I am busy, but partly because I don't want to get irritated by trying to do it all at once. Properly removing all of it will require loosening the drawer handles to get it out from underneath each of them.I took off a star because my one drawer handles is missing two bolts and two rivets broke free of the one drawer, resulting in some very minor damage to the back of the unit (a slight dent I'll hopefully never notice). I fixed it up easily with some rivets and screws, but it's still less than ideal. But who knows, that could have happened while I was moving it around.Definitely feels like a product of industrial quality, including its weight. Looks great, too.

I love the people who are good at what they do.
Ok, first of all; I ordered on Amazon on a Sunday and it arrived on Thursday. I wasn't expecting to see this 400# beauty for at least a week (which is what the shipping eta noted at purchase). Either way, the shipper called me and asked if it could arrive a little sooner. She was well spoken, very professional and a pleasure to work with. On shipping day I received a call from the driver who was equally as impressive as the woman I spoke with from the same shipping company. He was on time, professional and very helpful. Wow!! & thank you!! is all I can say about this shipping company! The tool chest: I couldn't possibly ask for more. This unit is exactly as described on the Trinity website as well as described on Amazon. I appreciate the detail, cleanliness, packaging, and functionality of the entire tool chest. They make a great product; well designed, well built, clean, and nicely packaged. I will buy from Trinity again.

Nice, but keep in mind...
the stainless finish doesn't hide any fingerprints or grime. My tools that sit less than 1-2" high are occupying drawers over 5" deep - not the best use of space. Unless you have bulky tools, you might consider something with a greater number of drawers. Build quality and drawer slides are good. The included drawer liners are just pre-cut sections of rubber shelf/drawer liner as opposed to thicker, foam drawer liners that are often used in tool chests. Most disappointments were due to my failure to anticipate what I needed - overall it's a good box.

It arrived intact and was easy to uncrate and put together
I bought this for my hubby for christmas. It arrived intact and was easy to uncrate and put together. It appears heavy duty. It comes with pre-cut drawer lines which is a big plus. The wheels are easy to place and make the whole unit easy to maneuver around the shop.

Great buy!!!!!
I brought the box for work. It sit's in the shop next to a box that costs more that 4 times what I paid. That guy is still jealous of it. Really durable so far.
