Thomas Balinger Chromatic Harmonica Songbook Shanties & Songs of the Sea The endless sea has always inspired fascinating tales of far-away lands, treasures hidden on exotic islands and dangerous storms. And of course it has spawned its own kind of music: The shanties – songs of the wind and the waves, of the hard work onboard a ship and of the loved ones waiting at home, sometimes in vain. This collection contains shanties known and loved all over the world arranged for easy Chromatic Harmonica in C. Along with the „classics“ like Banks of Sacramento , Blow the man down or What shall we do with the drunken sailor you’ll also find some songs not as common and even some you might never have heard before. This book is aimed at the beginning to intermediate player. To make playing as easy as possible they feature additional chromatic harp tablature . This handy form of notation enables you to start playing right away even if you don’t know how to read music. There are chord symbols on every song, so you can have a friend playing Piano, Guitar, Ukulele or another chord instrument play along. Note charts for 8, 10, 12, 14 or 16 channel models included. Review: Best chromatic Harmonica songbook I've found - I like the selection in this book. I have all three of this author's chromatic harmonica books, but I just wish there were more books in the series. He has several books for ukulele, baritone uke and diatonic harmonica, but only 3 for chromatic harmonica. These are great books and we need more of them. My only issue is that there are a couple of spots where the tab has a wrong number, but I can also play from notation so I'm able to compensate.

Traditional American songs for chromatic
As others have noted, this songbook contains 70 American folk songs such as Wayfaring Stranger. Songs are presented with music notation, accompanying chords, and guitar tabs for the chords, as well as tabulature for 12 hole chromatic harmonica. I'm satisfied with this songbook, it is a great way to familiarize yourself with the chromatic. Two reservations about this book. First, the music notation is written an octave lower than played. Nowhere is that mentioned, so beginner students should be aware of this. Second, I've noted occasional errors in the harmonica tabulature. Wayfaring Stranger in the 22nd measure specifies an 8 draw for a D in the fifth octave, which is incorrect. There is a similar error in Red River Valley where a flat D is shown as a 5 draw with slide, when it should be a 5 blow with a slide. I imagine there may be other typos. These occasional errors will keep you on your toes. Overall, it's a fine book.

I’m playing chromatic again ...
After years of playing Bluesharp only, I thought about dusting off my old chromatic harmonica. I bought this collection because it’s reasonably priced and I like a lot of the songs. The harp tablature included makes playing easy, especially when you’re not that good at reading music. After stumbling through some songs I started remembering how to play and things definitely sounded better then. At the moment I’m having lots of fun playing my chromatic once again and I’d definitely recommend this book. There’s even chord symbols and diagrams for guitar players - I don’t need them at the moment, but I think they might be useful when you’re playing with friends.

It actually does instruct only about the Chromatic and not try to teach everything
It really starts out well but some musical knowledge would be a big help before using. Apparently most people play several different keyed harmonicas rather than try a chromatic. Good for the price

Excellent book
Excellent book for those learning to read on the chromatic. Pleasant, familiar, easy to navigate traditional American songs, arranged in various keys - very important: The C chromatic can play in all keys, and with this book you can learn some important songs in more difficult keys. Printing is clear, notation is mostly very accurate (unlike many songbooks) good table of contents, full lyrics for the songs. This is my favorite book for the chromatic.

BUEN LIBRO DE CANCIONES PARA ARMONICA CROMATICA
LE FALTA UN CD CON LAS PISTAS DE LAS CANCIONES, QUE ES LO MAS HABITUAL HOY EN DIA. PERO ESTA MUY BIEN.

Mixed results
Works well, well made and clear sound, but not the same sound a diatonic makes.
