Definitely worth my money and I don't say that easily so get one get a couple extra for friends
This is something special I have returned other items due to their inability to be quality I received this today I proceeded to chop oak for about an hour and 20 minutes in my backyard literally chop chunks of oak even carving a walking stick as well as hacking through a 7-in log of oak and mind you that saw back tooth they got going on it eats up some wood you can literally saw through some solid oak quite fast when I came back inside and sliced a tomato I realized I will buy another one and soon in fact I think they're going to be gifts to all my camping buddies I enjoy this item this one rocks and I hope they all are of the quality that I received thank you for creating something worth my money

Not A Machete
A real machete has a long blade made of springy steel and has a crudely ground edge. You sharpen it with a half-bastard file instead of a whetstone. You wield it with reckless abandon and do things with it and to it that you would never dream of doing with or to any other bladed tool. I've owned a couple throughout my life (they last forever.) As someone who was raised in the tropics, I've used them extensively for everything from cutting through heavy brush, making tinder and kindling, crafting with bamboo, and digging, to felling and cutting up trees that would pose a formidable challenge for the average chainsaw. As a rule, I don't even bother with a chainsaw for anything under six inches in diameter. A skillfully wielded machete is a thing of beauty to behold and proficiency with one is extremely gratifying and makes for confident bushcraftsmanship.Having said all that, I feel qualified to evaluate the Columbian Raptor "Machete." I was not shopping for a machete at the time. The Raptor appeared in the usual list of recommended products as I was making another purchase. What appealed to me in the images of the Raptor were the sawblade serrations on the spine and the ample thickness of the blade. It's price-point made adding it to my cart an easy decision. I purchased a SOG machete several years ago that had a sawblade on the back of the blade. A combination pruning saw and machete is just a match made in heaven. Unfortunately, in the case of the SOG, this combination was poorly executed. The kerf of the saw was the same as the thickness of the blade, which causes excessive friction and blade-pinch when sawing through anything thicker than your finger. The teeth of the saw were not sharpened. Furthermore, the blade of the SOG was extraordinarily flimsy and would buckle markedly when attempting to use the saw. The thickness of the Raptor's blade looked like it would eliminate this problem. In addition, the teeth of its saw are sharpened with aggressive profiles and, indeed, its function is vastly superior to that of the SOG. However, it suffers from the other flaw in the SOG; namely, the restricted kerf on the sawblade. The result is the same. The blade becomes very difficult to draw through cuts that are more than an inch deep. The saw is my only real gripe regarding the Raptor. The featured image of the Raptor makes it look much longer than it actually is. It is not long enough to serve as a proper machete. This is not to say that it isn't functional at all because it is. It is well balanced and is serviceable as a chopping blade but it just can't compete with a full-length machete. While certainly not a shortcoming, the quality of the blade and edge are vastly superior to what you get with a standard machete. The result is that it just feels wrong to expose the Raptor to the kind of abuse that you wouldn't think twice about exposing a conventional machete to. I cringe at the thought of sharpening the Raptor with a file. But with a price tag under $30, I think I can get past that.In summary, the Columbian Raptor Machete is a great little machete at its price-point. While it could benefit from additional length, it fills a nice niche between a full-sized machete and a bowie knife. The sawblade is only marginally functional and cannot compete with a dedicated pruning saw of the same length.

Best Deal I have found in a Survival machete yet!
One was not quite as sharp as I would have liked but only one & that is easy to fix. I put camo paracord lanyards on them and stored them. Thanks Amazon!

Not the best steel
It is just ok, don’t try anything that’s light like small branches or vines as it did not come super sharp and would not hold an edge once it was sharpened.
