My first SEO book that didn't waste my time!!
I never write anything here, I just don't feel it is worth wasting time on reviews.. But this will be an exception!Guys, this book is amazing. The moment you get it, you get the feel like you're reading a doctors pro guide to fix a heart.. It takes SEO to the professional level. Most books I read on marketing, are a waste of money, and time that is worth money. Most books just spit the same water as every single site out there trying to put together what's-suposed to be 'content' but ends up looking like a keyword mob..When you get someone to give out a book on SEO, you should think twice if that person is really going to reveal information that people takw thousands of dollars for. This book is an exception. He really shares some secret knoledge that can help you out. He admits in the begining that the reason he is doing this is because he knows that he cant even compete with all the SEO companies, that come a dime a dozen.. But with this book he will get a name and whatever,,If you guys have questions, here is my email [...]

Bridge from Basic to Advanced
This is a great book for people who are moving from basic to advanced in their SEO knowledge. If you know what a title tag and meta description are but aren't sure exactly what a sitemap or .htaccess file does then this book is for you.The authors writing style is fun and educational at the same time. Tech geeks have a sense of humor that is a mix of dorky and oddball and his personality really comes out at fun times. It's a really good read for anyone that wants to double check they understand what they think they learned at some of the best industry conferences. However, I do feel there is an advanced to expert level book waiting in the wings from this author. Having been the SEO specialist at one of the best industry companies, SEOmoz, I think he held back on providing some of the really neat tricks in his bag.All around a great book to have in your library both physical and on the Kindle.

Search No More
Having read Danny's stuff on SEOmoz, I expected something pretty good and I wasn't disappointed by this book. It's well-organized, thoughtful, very practical, and a good read. I've already seen one tip in the book that helped me increase a client's traffic enormously.I'm not all of the way through the book yet so I don't have any complaints. The sales and marketing section of the book I could have written myself, since it pretty much follows my own methods with analyzing and pitching services to clients. If you have some background already and hands-on SEO experience, you'll find a lot to like in this book. If you're just starting out, it's not going to hold your hand and direct you on every step. Thanks, Danny.

This is the first SEO book you should get.
Danny was the lead SEO at SEOMoz and made a great video about local search last November. That video compelled me to signup for the pro SEOMoz membership. I am an in-house SEO, and by March 2011 I was ranking #1 in most relevant keywords for my market (seattle painting, house painting) primarily because of the tools, strategies, etc. I learned from Danny and SEOMoz.Purchasing any book Danny might work on is a no-brainer for me...however I was blown away by what I am learning from the book. Many SEO books on the market are basically re-hashed material you can find by searching for "what is SEO"..with low hanging fruit advice like "get your tags right, get good links, create good content", etc ; Search Engine Optimization Secrets however breaks down the SEO PROCESS from creating strategic plan to technical hurdles, best practices, site audits, implementing tracking tools, and so on. I consider myself an adequate SEO but this book has made me re-examine my process; I could be squeezing more juice out of certain procedures I paid little attention to.I wish I would have read this book sooner.

An excellent text but should address organic methods of driving potential buyers to the main website.

The Gold Standard for SEO Knowledge Bombs
This is THE gold standard of SEO books. It doesn't cover link building too much, but what it does cover is spot on. But this is the BIBLE for technical SEO and intermediate to advanced topics. Covers doing SEO audits in a way I've never seen done so well before. If you do any type of SEO contracting or use it at work, read this twice then read it again.

Some gems but lacks link building
This is a solid book worth reading. The most useful sections are an example SEO audits (both infosite and e-commerce), finding SEO problems and optimising for alternative SEs. That said, Danny completely left out any link building tactics. He mentioned that links make 70% of ranking factors, it seems odd to leave this out.So my recommendations are:Buy it, if you are in the consulting business. It will make your life a lot easier.Don't, if you specialise in link-building. There is zero content on that topic.

SEO Secrets
Well, as SEO specialists we didn't expect anything secretive about this book, however, there's always something that surprises everyone with the latest books and Danny Dover does just that with guidance and insights from Erik Daffron. On-site and off-site Seo guidance, URL advice, black hat explanations, Content Analysis, meeting potential clients guidance, actually understanding SEO, testing your SEO performances for optimal performance and fixing your clients seo search engine penalties, this list goes on. Anyone who doesn't understand the Internet HTML, php coding may have problems with references to numerous guides but in general it's a step by step bible from Author to reader. A wealth of knowledge and guidance, lessons, site maps, link building and so on. With the Internet changing rapidly through social networking and Google Panda the book still is a fundamental bible for SEO newbies, professionals or website gurus. Excellent 10/10

Amazing SEO book but needs an update.
I bought this book back in 2011 when it was released, absolutely outstanding insight into SEO. Hopefully Danny will provide an updated version soon, as stated in another review the basics stay the same but a lot has changed in the last 9 years. Recommended read for beginners.

Must read SEO book
Whether SEO is your profession or like me you want to learn more about SEO, then this book is a must read.SEO secrets provides a comprehensive guide to SEO whilst being written in a very engaging way makiing it far more accessible than many SEO books I have read in the past.Despite finishing it in my first sitting I've found myself devling into the book several times whilst fiddling with my website and can see myself dipping in and out in the future as there is a fair bit of stuff to take in.All in all a real eye opener that gives an insight into SEO!

Great tips
Some of the tips are pretty basic, but this book is for beguinners! Anyway, it helps to refresh some old things and suggests some great new alternatives for people that aren't still very experienced in SEO.
