Philips Quick Clean Pod - Philips Cleaning Cartridge for Men's Electric Shaver Series 5000, 7000, 8000 and 9000, Men's Electric Shaver Cleaner (Model QCP10/01)

Very good at cleaning the shaver. Leaves it clean and sterilised. Much better than just using water. Drop the capsule in the unit. Then the razor sits on top. Press start and let it do its thing. When finished I just leave it on the unit to allow fluid to drain back.

Series 9000 shaver compatible. £28 comes with one cleaning pod, so not the cheapest. Once opened the cleaning pod is a pain to insert and remove to relid as the pod cannot stay inside as it will evaporate/spill super easy, lost a star for this as its twice the size to store. I keep my shaver clean and wash after use. However it did remove more hair, so worth it for a rash free shave. Takes about 30 seconds to clean, so pretty quick. Doesnt work with 5000 series. Why they could have a compatibility chart in the description is beyond me.

Instructions over complicate. Unlock the lid Remove foil from pod Place pod in base Replace and lock lid Insert shaver System auto detects compatible razor and goes through the cleaning cycle. I didn't realise how dirty mine was. I stripped and removed most of the bad grime and ran the cleaning cycle again. Shaver works as if new blades fitted. Very happy.

I can was getting razor rash. I read another review which implied this cleaner solved the problem. So far I agree but in my opinion it makes the razor less portable if you to take the cleaning cartridges as well away on holiday as well (so I don't) . Anyway cleaning fluid appears to have solved my razor rash problem.

After having ordered this cleaner for my new Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra shaver I noticed that the product description asserts this is not compatible with that model of shaver. However, fortunately it seems to work fine although I see Philips have an alternative version available that looks slightly different, having a chrome bezel.

Do not be mislead by the product description. This will not work with all the 5000 series. Given this was a recommended product from amazon after buying a 5000 series electric razor a few months ago i would expect it to have been compatible. Sadly this is not the case, only after looking through manufacturers details can you see it is only useful for certain 5000 series razors. Really should be made clear in the product description and not recomended to those who purchased the 5466 razor like myself. Waste of money in the end. I will be asking amazon for a return even though it is now all opened.
