Honest Review: Shark HydroVac – Worth Every Penny!
First off, I want to say I’m not a paid reviewer — I bought the Shark HydroVac with my own money. I’m sharing this because, when I was looking to buy, I struggled to find many reviews from people with genuinely dirty floors. So I held off cleaning for two days (gross, I know!) just to really put it to the test. Let me tell you, I’ve tried everything to make floor cleaning easier — steam cleaners, fancy mops with spinning or scrubbing heads — and honestly, none of them worked that well. I own a few Shark products already and have always been impressed, so I had high hopes. Thankfully, the HydroVac didn’t disappoint. We have large, muddy, slobbery dogs and messy teenagers, so our floors take a beating. The Shark handled it like a champ. It is a bit of an investment, but in my opinion, it’s absolutely worth it. One thing that really surprised me: how dry the floors are afterwards. Usually I clean at night and hope they’re dry by morning — with the HydroVac, they’re basically dry straight away! I did take my time and went over areas multiple times because our floors were especially bad, but if your floors are cleaner to begin with, it’ll be a lot quicker. I just let the machine do the work. This is also a brilliant option for anyone with back issues — it glides effortlessly and isn’t heavy at all. Cleaning the machine is also a breeze. The self-cleaning mode works really well, and all I had to do was empty the tanks and leave the roller to dry. I used it on both stone and vinyl flooring. Our vinyl has deep grooves that normal mops never clean properly — I usually have to scrub them by hand. The Shark got into all the grooves. I was seriously impressed. To sum up: I’m genuinely thrilled with this purchase. It exceeded my expectations and has made a dreaded chore so much easier

Product as described.
Where has this been all my life. Being an owner of a 70kg Caucasian Shepherd I have mud ,hair and slobber in abundance. I have tried many things but resorted to a brush then mop and bucket. Nothing else worked until I bought the Shark hydro vac. Yes, I clean the machine after two rooms but it is easy and I would clean my mop water as often. It's really easy to clean. I don't use the clean function just rince in the sink. It's perfect on flat hard floors ,needs a little more care on my uneven tiles. If your tiles are really cobbly it would not work. It hoovers up hair as it cleans, so no other processes needed. If I find large items of debris I pick those up first. I love it. Well done Shark.

Obsessed!
I absolutely love my hydro vac its saving me so much time cleaning my floors. The power on this machine is incredible. With two small kids and a dog it has its work cut but handles it like a pro. Downside is it doesn't clean the edges of the floor

Saved my sanity
This is a great machine. It’s light and manoeuvrable and it really works. I have three dogs of my own plus a part time one that I dog mind- not to mention the grandchildren. Due to the poor weather my floor has been covered in muddy paw prints several times a day most days for 9 months since last October and constant vacuuming and mopping it was sending me round the twist not to mention the damage caused to kitchen cabinet bases due to being damp frequently. This machine is a game changer. It’s fab for the vinyl tiles in my house and also, as it uses very little water, my wooden floor loves it too. It handles lawns clippings and all the bits of leaves and debris the puppy brings in with ease. Floors dry super quick and they’re very clean, they look great. Criticisms? Not many-I could do with the cord being a little bit longer and it’s a little noisy.

Waste of time and money
This does not save anytime. I purchased this to be able to clean my tiled utility and kitchen floor. It’s meant to hoover and mop at the same time. I have a Labrador dog and Hoover and mop the floor daily. From my first try it was clear that the floor would need to be hoovered by my upright before using the shark hydro vac. Okay I thought, I have a dog and it will still be better to use this to clean the floor and then put it on the stand to clean its roller, ready for the next use. The reality is even after hoovering the hydro vac wants emptying of dirty water every couple of seconds. It’s roller squeezes out the dirty water on any tiles that’s aren’t quite as level to the grout and the sight of a single dog hair it says it’s full. I spend more time taking it apart and washing it out, to basically find nothing. The time I spend doing this, I could simply hoover, mop and have a cup of tea.

Really easy to use
I have only used this 3 times so far but I'm really impressed. I bought the corded and its really easy to use. My lounge/ kitchen is quite large and the clean water tank does the whole room. You need to hoover in a slower motion than usual to give it time to clean the floor. On stubborn marks I hold it there a little longer until the marks has gone. It definitely isn't as clean as of you got on your knees and scrubbed but every bit as clean as my spray mop got it and without the need to hoover first. The device itself feels like it's very good quality and, if it lasts atleast 5 years, I would say is decent value for money. The self clean function is good. Saving me quite a bit of time and effort so far so I definitely recommend.

A lot of maintenance required, not worth the money.
I have just messaged my daughter in law who was asking what i thought of this so I will just copy my message on here too. ....as follows: Tbh is no more thorough than one of those spray mops you can get for £8 from b &M and a bit of zoflora. The water tanks are tiny, need to keep stopping to empty n refill, declog filter etc. AND I had even hoovered up first !!!! There was a splodge of dried bean juice on the floor i left to test it, i had to keep going over it several times.in the end i got down n rubbed it with my thumb to loosen it and then went over it again. You have to take all the tanks, filters n rollers apart everytime you use it and let them dry for 24 hours. The cheap spray mops you just rip the microfibre cloth off n lash it in your washing machine! Also, its very big and tall and doesnt break down like the shark hoover...once the handle goes on its on for good so storage would be an issue. I think if you keep a pretty clean house anyway it would be ok functionality wise but if there was bits on floor with kids like crumbs or cereal, you would deffo need to hoover up first. You have to replace filters n mophead every 6 months and the solution is tiny and im already half way through the bottle and i have only done downstairs so far! If you have the physical energy to mop regulary with a £8 spray mop, i would be doing that but....im gonna give this a go. Xx

Pretty Average
I've had the hydrovac for a year now and have found it's performance pretty average. The main problem is that the microfibre rollers (the brushes which spin to clean the floor) very quickly become useless. After a few uses the soft fibres become flattened and are then no good at cleaning hard floors. This happens even though I've run the machine's self clean cycle after every use. I have replaced the brushes several times and you definitely need to factor in this extra cost when you buy this floor cleaner. I would not buy again.

Disappointing
Very clunky and heavy and hard to get small spaces. Needs to be cleaned fully after every use or water and dirt will smell. Does not pick up hair very well. Disappointing
