I have cut myself once already with it, but it healed fine without additional care. It washes up nicely also. Of course I don't put it in the dishwasher. I hand wash all my nice knives and they last as long as they are cared for. I have an extra small hand size and this knife doesn't cause me any hand pain even though it has some weight to it. I would recommend to anyone that enjoys nice cooking knifes that will last.
