ULTRA WIDE is BEST - ALWAY BUY NAME BRAND MONITORS ONLY
The best experience you can get and black Friday literally saved my computer from the bottle-neck I was using. I typically take apart and put computers back together as a hobby and probably some day as a full time business myself, so at times when dealing with family issues I use what is available and that mean being stuck trying to use my gaming rig on a 55 inch 4k samsung TV which was literally beating the crap out of the RTX 4070 Ti Super graphics card I had in it cause playing any games on that TV was causing a burn up of the graphics card so when I got this Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED I was like feeling the actual truest gaming experience anyone should ever expect. It literally makes regular gaming feel real and the best experience you can get besides playing VR. Videos play well, the refresh rate of everything is perfect, the product was delivered lightning fast and the best part is IT WAS DELIVERED IN PERFECT CONDITION! BUYERS BE WARNED ALWAYS BUY NAME BRAND MONITORS. I've had NO flickering or anything like that at all when playing games or watching videos or doing side to side work. The quality loans great because of using the HDMI 2.0 it came with. DEFINITELY USE IT and if you can get a better wire then the one they sent that's not a big deal, but more power to ya. I didn't know what kind of wire the hdmi 2.0 would be or what to get for this monitor, but I was excited it came with one so I could use it's max benefits. I haven't tested using the display port yet or both wire ports being plugged in at the same time, but I think I will soon. Fits the room great if you have a generally nice bedroom that isn't already cluttered, my house technically has what we call "2 living rooms" and we just turned one of them into a bedroom so basically plenty of room for it. The ultra wide feature makes me wish that everything should be made ultra wide monitor compatible from video games to movies and more cause it Looks GREAT! Remember to always buy name brand cause I tried out a "Decogear" monitor that was a 120 hz refresh rare thinking cause I bought cheap is was a good idea and it WASNT. Do not buy off brand monitors cause you'll end up needing to do all the issues with returns, but I'm NEVER returning this Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED EVER. It's literally a must for gamers especially if you don't wanna use 2 separate monitors for how it can ruin the immersion when using 2 separate monitors. It's a million times better to just get an ultra-wide monitor for sure. Best experience for a monitor I've ever had and it's a perfect gift for ANY gamer, computer worker, or anyone that enjoys anything from computer work to steam games.

Can use 3 windows!!
This monitor is absolutely amazing! The picture quality is clear and beautiful. Much better than 4k in my opinion and I can actually see the text better than I could on 4k screens. It is more fluid and not pixilated. I was concerned because this wasn't 4k but the OLED is actually much much better! While I do use this for gaming my primary usage is for work. The curvature of the screen is amazing. Three workable windows and because it curves to your eyeballs it is very very smooth and I don't have to strain when looking at it. No more squinting! I'm very pleased with this purchase and while I can't speak to the longevity of the screen I can say that I cannot find anything really negative to say about this. The only thing I wish was that it was actually a little bit bigger. I would like to see a product like this up to 55" as I do have extra real estate on my desk. But that said this is the largest curved gaming monitor that Samsung makes (as of 2024) and I trust Samsung very much. I've had a 52" Samsung TV sitting on my wall since 2009 and it is still great! The colors on it are still better than brand new LGs (I know because I've owned a very high end one). While I think LG makes great products like washers & dryers and refrigerators (some may complain about their longevity but their fit and finish is absolutely the best) I still trust and have found Samsungs to be absolutely the best screens on the market in all categories. I hope someone finds this useful that is worried that three screens will not pop up and work properly but they actually work very very well and you don't have the bezels or the eye strain to deal with.

Changes the landscape for origination and multi-tasking.
I've had this monitor for close to four years now. I did have a problem with the front panel, but Samsung includes an additional 3-year warranty on them and sent some guys over to my house to fix it directly. Amazing service. I'm going to combine the gaming and office specifications in one paragraph, so I can explain the issues I have with the monitor lastly. Gaming wise it's an awesome monitor. Never buffers, and the refresh rate and graphics are crazy good. The built-in speakers are amazing, and I prefer them over some very good headphones I picked up for surround sound. Some games don't support ultrawide, but games that do look amazing; those that do not just get black blanks to crop out excess space, though I recommend just borderless windowed. Office organization and multi-tasking are taken to the next level as well. You can always display around 3 windows side by side, and that allows for faster productivity, and focus. Sometimes it gets overwhelming, so I usually keep about an inch border of space for windows, so they stay within eye-level, and don't crowd my eye sight. Alright time for the issues, which aren't so bad. Biggest thing you need to buy for this monitor is the $400 arm stand, it saves a lot of desk space, and allow you easier customize the height of the monitor, so you don't destroy your posture. Also you need to buy the 3-year warranty. Samsung does provide their own 3-year warranty (6 years all together), and will send people to fix your monitor if you ask for it (since the monitor technically is counted as a tv haha). But if something happens, and you no longer have a warranty, you need to realize you may be better buying a new monitor, because repair is not cheap. And if I could go back, I would rather buy a 37" monitor, and have another secondary monitor (i use the CRUA 24โ Curved Gaming Monitor). Its not that the monitor is bad, this thing is an amazing feat of engineering and innovation, but my desk needed an upgrade to fit this beast. Otherwise worth the $1500, and if you personally have problems it's not your fault.... its your CPU and GPU's fault.

Read this BEFORE you buy...
If you are using this monitor with more than one input (especially a laptop) as well as a gaming PC, read this! I use my monitor for both work and gaming with 2 machines. My Corsair One for gaming works perfectly with this monitor with no issues. My laptop however was a nightmare to get to "work" with this monitor. The Samsung support is absolutely terrible. First, you'll get NO instruction or setup booklet when the monitor is delivered. It just shows you how to basically unpack it and "plug it in". Your laptop will likely NOT work out of the box if it's a work-grade laptop (not for gaming). I googled and watched a lot of youtube videos just to get the basics to work. I called Samsung multiple times and was told a lot of misinformation (buy a Thunderbolt C cable, do this, do that...). Finally they setup a ticket for someone to come onsite to my home and "fix" it. I was told they would be here within 24-48 hours and to answer my phone as they will close tickets if you don't. No one ever called and after 10 days they just "cancelled" the ticket stating it had the wrong information on it. Typical. You're completely on your own to figure all this out. If you're in a situation like mine, know that you'll need to use your HDMI and that you only have 1. So the idea of splitting your screen can get really tricky. To even make your HDMI work with your laptop so the screen doesn't compress, you need to go to the setup on the monitor itself and in the Menu, so to System, then PC/AV - choose AV. You may also have to change the Display Port Ver to 1.4 instead of 2.0. Everyone's situation will be different of course depending on your laptop. This at least made my laptop using HDMI usable, but it shrinks the screen size down to ~27". You won't be able to use the full 49" view. I bought this monitor primarily for gaming, but still have to use it for work as well. You'll be disappointed in it if you try to hook up a laptop with a mediocre graphics card. There are other videos out there to get this to work and use multiple inputs, but again - beware... You only get 1 HDMI and 1 Display port. It may not end up being as great of a monitor as you may think. Samsung support is ABSOLUTELY USELESS. I followed their directions and bought the Thunderbolt C connection and it still didn't work. I hope this helps someone else out in the future.

Great monitor, beware of quality issues
This is a 3 year after purchase review. love this monitor! I came from a 40" 4K tv as a gaming tv. Definitely took some getting used to since you're losing vertical screen real estate. But in many games like FPS, you get more horizontal view of the battlefield. The contrast from light to dark and the absolute blacks in games is just the best. I can't go back to another other than oled now. I have had 2 issues that required warranty service. 18months in, the monitor stopped turning on. Within a week they came to my house and fixed it. Yaaah!!! But 6 months later i get a different issue. The screen itself starting pulling away from the frame. The adhesive holding it to the frame to keep the curved shape was wearing out. 3 spots towards the end , top and bottom pulled away. One spot was 8 inches long and i could see behind the screen. Within a week they came to fix it and the repair tech said he'd never that before. This is best part, as he is installing the electronics from my monitor to the new empty shell, he noticed that "BRAND NEW" screen, was pulling away too!! Hahahaha. What are the odds?? He called a supervisor to get authorization to reorder another screen. Fast forward a week, he came back, opened the new box to check the screen before installing and it was good. Evening ended up great after that. But now, 1 year after that, I'm seeing 2 spots that are coming away again. I doubt they'll let me warranty the same issue twice... But it's their product and their quality issues, not mine. I may just fix myself with e6000 glue.

The most incredible monitor I have ever seen
I had to write a review, after getting this monitor into my house. I had been on the fence about it, there were some not great reviews about quality and other things. But, after I got mine, I am really happy with it, and it truly is the most incredible monitor I have EVER seen. First, the quality is perfect on my monitor. There is not a single visible bad pixel. The monitor is HEAVY and solid, and comes with a large sturdy base to hold it up. But, the most amazing thing is the size. It is just so much bigger than your imagination expects. I had two monitors side by side and expected it to replace that spot, but they were 20" monitors, and this is MUCH bigger than those two. The inputs and options are impressive. The menu control is pretty terrible but it does the job. Its a little nub of a joystick you control on the back of the monitor by reaching around underneath. The monitor has good speakers built in that work okay for games, but honestly I still prefer headphones. It has options to use this monitor as two, if you need that, rather than one large monitor, but I never tried that, there was no point my video card has no issues with this monitor (RTX4090). All in all, while this is expensive, if you have as much invested in the PC and video card as I do then this is absolutely worth it. The monitor is how you use and how you see your PC. Why not have something that makes it look as amazing as possible? I am so happy I bought this, I have not had a minute of buyer's remorse except when the box arrived and it is like 5' long, and I pulled out the panel and saw the sheer size of this thing for the first time. I worried it wouldn't fit on my desk. But, it did, and I have been happy since.

WOW
I bought this for a great deal during Prime days. This is hands down the best monitor I have ever owned. Amazing picture quality. I read the reviews about brightness and OLEDS in general, and I can vouch for the fact that this monitor is plenty bright. The colors are amazing. I come from a work environment with a dual monitor setup and I am tired of looking left or right as the bezels are front and center. I use this monitor for gaming when I am home and also remote in to work on this. The amount of space on this monitor allows me to have more work up on the screen when compared to my dual monitors at work. When gaming, I see no lag whatsoever. Watching movies on this screen is also amazing. As far as all the other bells and whistles, there is plenty of adjustment when it comes to the picture so you can certainly dial it in to your liking. I appreciate the backlight feature and I chose a color that matches the lighting in my computer case. I think as a general comment the backlighting could be better by having more color choices, but that really is a secondary feature on a monitor like this. As I stated at the start of this review, I go this for pretty much half price during Prime days. I feel like I got a tremendous deal due to that. If I paid full price, I would feel like I paid what it was worth. So in summary, full price it is still worth it, but if you see it on sale get off the fence and buy one. One last thing is this model does not have the Samsung TV built into it, which is what it is. I couldn't see missing out on the sale just because it didn't have that one feature I would have liked to have.

Unbelievably Impressed
I absolutely love this monitor. Upgrading to this from a 27 inch LED monitor was as big a jump as upgrading to my PC from PS4. If you play racing sims or flight sims you will have a hard time finding anything better to play them on, and single player games are gorgeous and immersive. The menu navigation has not been poor enough to note any negative remarks like I've seen others make and is easy to figure out after two times of doing it. Be aware that the included base stand for the monitor is rather large, so it will take up a lot of space if you don't have a separate monitor stand or large desk. There's also plenty of screen space and configurations for productivity and work, so it's useful for more than just gaming. For some reason using display port cables only lets the native resolution reach 3840x1920 in my experience, and I was only able to reach the true native resolution of 5120x1440 when using an HDMI cable, but I'm not sure if that's an issue with this monitor, me, or my gear. I debated getting one of these for about 2 years before getting it on sale and it was absolutely worth every penny.

Great screen, huge, good functionality
UPDATE AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS: I am increasing my review from 4 stars to 5 stars because I am really overall impressed with this screen. Added a video review! I love this screen, it is nice and long but not too curved. I have it hooked up with an HDMI from my MacBook Pro. I wish the colours were slightly more vivid which is why I removed a star. They are good, but they are not as clear as my Macbook screen by a landslide. It is VERY heavy and made my IKEA table actually bow down in the middle of it. I needed to add extra support to my table because of this. I will hopefully be getting an arm for the screen, so that it can be mounted right to the table. That said, when purchasing this definitely keep in mind how HEAVY it is. The table that bowed is the one in the picture, and this thing is a sturdy table. I was really surprised that after a week on the table top it actually made my TABLE curved because it was so heavy. The response rate is amazing, and I am really happy with it for all things gaming, streaming, and for using it when I am editing videos and doing work. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. I would buy it again. I think it was an awesome purchase and it makes my space feel special!

Great monitor if you know how to make it works
You need to be a technical guy to really get the most out of the monitor. Otherwise, don't buy it. What you read on the review are all true. Black screen, flicker...etc. Plus, the glossy coating is so hard to clean. Super easy to scratch the screen if you don't use the right tools. Overall, it is not a monitor for average person. It took me about 2 full days to finally made the monitor work flawlessly without blackscreen dead pixel what so ever. It is not hard to see why this monitor gets so high return rate.
