Sometimes when I turn it on (fully charged), punch it up to 3200, and press into my leg, the unit just stops. Is this unit defective?

I think it might be, mine has never done that.

How do u turn this thing on?

Check the bottom of the handle and make sure it is switched to the "On" position. You then use the plus sign on the display to activate the gun. Once you hit the plus sign to turn it on, you can continue hitting plus to increase vibration or minus to decrease. Hit the round stop button on the display to stop vibration.

Does the heat and massage work at the same time?

Yes it does, we love it. There is a separate attachment you can use for the heat.
