Excellent film
Another fantastic script from Aaron Sorkin, making for a fascinating and endlessly rewatchable piece of cinema courtesy of the dynamic Danny Boyle. The whole issue of how much events (or people) resemble reality really doesn't matter. Sorkin took Isaac's biography and distilled it down to the core themes and conflicts, weaving them into something truly theatrical. I don't think anyone could have really done justice to the actual complexity of Jobs himself, but Fassbender/Sorkin/Boyle do a good job of showing someone complex and fascinating in their own way that is tied to the Apple story. Essentially, you need to view it as a piece of cinema, and go back to the Apple documentaries (e.g. Man in the Machine, The Lost Interview) for accuracy and detail. The bluray disc itself has two very interesting commentaries from Boyle and Sorkin, Sorkin's with the editor also. The latter has some great banter and random stories and moments of interest. The making-of sections are fine too - a good disc all round and essential for any Sorkin fan's or dialogue driven films in general.

And Michael Fassbender is as good as he usually is
This has a very interesting way of putting a biography onto film. And Michael Fassbender is as good as he usually is. Which is just superb, one of the best actors of our time. Steve Jobs comes across as a complicated man, driven and very single minded. But then again what do you expect from a man who was an industrial genius. You may not like Apple, but Jobs as a businessman was unprecedented.Well worth a watch, but expect something different to the normal was of filming a biography and you will get it.

Good but a little "hit and miss"
I really like Stephen Merchant and was keen to see this dvd as I was unable to catch him in concert. He came across in his usual, likeable way, telling tales of his struggles to be a hit with ladies. My partner & I didn't find it hilarious but it did raise a fair number of laughs and it was a pleasure to watch. Now and again I felt he fell short of the mark, labouring a few jokes for slightly too long - but overall it was fun to watch. I wouldn't make a huge deal out of recommending it but if your expectations aren't TOO high, this would be a good option.

Best Live Comedy I've Ever Seen
This show is so good that I actually went to see it twice; first in Bristol, and then in Plymouth. As the other reviewers have said, Steve seems very at home on stage and has obviously put a lot of hard work into honing this act. The show mainly deals with a discussion of his romantic misfortunes, but a lot of physical comedy is involved, and he also makes very effective use of some visual aids, including a giant screen to exhibit some newspaper cuttings, (don't worry, this isn't some kind of museumesque lecture - that part is a lot funnier than it sounds.) He also makes ingenius use of some close up camera work at the end. I have never laughed so frequently as I did whilst watching this show, and generally I'm not even a fan of stand up comedy, so I guarantee you will enjoy this. Highly recommended.

I like Stephen Merchant, make sure you get the right format
I love Stephen Merchant, this was a good show, well worth it. My only issue is with Amazon, not Stephen Merchant. When I ordered this DVD it was not clear from the information that this DVD would be in a format that wouldnt play on my DVD player. I did not realize that I ordered a format that only functions in the UK, so I had to watch this show on my laptop, rather than in my DVD player....so when you order this, make sure you are getting the format that is right for you.

Rather dull
I was looking forward to this film, but actually found it quite dull. There are lots and lots of fragmented conversations as Steve Jobs stalks corridors prior to product launches but rather than illuminating his psychology I found them to be too long and quite boring. Overall he comes over as obsessive, uncaring about people around him, demanding, bullying...but hey, he made computers that sell, so I guess that's OK? Not someone to emulate and he certainly didn't come over as happy or fulfilled in any way. Film could have been 30 minutes shorter and not lost anything I think.

Disappointing. Fassbender saved it.
Tiny bit disappointed to be honest. I like the idea of the structure, but think that the product chosen was-in the case of the cube-not the revolutionary one. iPhone and iPod were way more important. But that was sacrificed for the storyline of Jobs getting back to Apple. Which was way simplified given the Pixar years. Fassbender was great but-although highly acclaimed-Winslett really couldn’t decide what accent to do. I’m a huge Apple fan, which may be why I was disappointed. Read the book. Far superior.
