This is great to have when traveling. You don’t have to worry about packing batteries and it doesn’t take up much space in your suitcase.

Great product, no need to use batteries, is compact, doesn’t weight and it’s always reliable.

This scale is handy to have around if you have some sort of expandable bag. I bought a dry bag which I am using to fly around the world. Since my dry bag can collapse or expand depending on the contents inside that means having a measuring tape handy is a must, it also doesn't hurt to have a scale too. Luckily this thing has both but I caution you, don't pack your luggage too close to the weight limit as the scale is not pinpoint accurate. The scale is off by about 0.1 which is a big deal for travelers as any ounce over translates into extra charges. I'd recommend when packing to allow for a buffer so that if the scale does not read correctly you don't end up owing 400 extra. As for me I'm using this on my carry on luggage as I can already foresee the inevitable weight optimization economy will have especially when traveling internationally. This is clever, but I won't be traveling with one. The combined pull out measuring tape that also winds a generator is cute, but the mechanism for the generator makes the scale heavier than a tiny button cell battery. And if I'm 'm traveling with a luggage scale to manage my luggage weight the last thing I'd want to do is add more weight than needed with a heavier than normal luggage scale. The low power the generator can provide also mean that the display is not back lit, which is ok, but not as easy to read. The main missing feature is a beep to tell you when the hold feature has kicked in and you can lower the luggage and look at the reading.

I was so excited to get this scale, especially since it had the built in tape measure and did not require batteries. 5 uses in the part with the little ruler slipped off and it retracted into the unit. Now I cannot generate the power to use the scale. It's now completely useless and I am very disappointed with that. No value for your money at all.

Accurate scale. Easy to read and charge. Has been using for over 1year. Excellent quality and sturdy. Highly recommend to everyone.

Replacement for previous item which was marvellous. Reassurance while travelling without having to worry about accidently using up the battery by constant pressure on the 'on' button. I haven't come across the tape measure recoil as a power source before but looks straightforward and hopefully it will last as long as my previous one which had to be shaken vigorously to charge. Accuracy pretty good although I always find Gatwick seems to weigh a bit heavier (<500g difference at 22kg) so leave a bit of wiggle room.
