The edge DOES need touching up quite often but if you know what you are doing its not a problem. In my opinion this knife is for lighter, finer work and a fixed blade should be uused for heavier work. It is light wieght for a knife this size, but its heavier than a SAK (swiss army knife), but this is a false comparison because this knife is much stronger than your average SAK. I love it because it can be made SO SHARP that it will cut through things like Paracord effortlessly, but i dont use it on "knotty" branches or things likely to chip the very fine edge. Well worth the £20, and if i chip it i will buy another one without a second thought.
