How does it work? Can anyone tell me? Or is it just for display?

It works very well. I bought it as a gift for a friend of mine who is an M & M crazy person. It's been a while since I bought it but as I recall, there is a reservoir in the back that you fill with M & Ms as well as a handle that you press and it dispenses the candy. Really cute and my friend lived it.

Mine is new in box, without old candy!

How much would these cost out of box?

If it were out of the box, in good condition, i would price it at $25... but every seller sets their own price. .. so you'll just have to keep looking- good luck!

How many m&ms does it hold? does it only work with original m&m's or any m&m's?

It holds 5.6 oz . on the box it say holds m&m chocolate candies but not what kind . I think it will work with any m&ms patrick
