When the feet are uncomfortable, so is the mind and body. With these words, Donald J Pliner has committed his life to the quality and perfection of an innovative line of shoes. A life-long and family tradition is continued with his luxuriously comfortable footwear that never compromises creativity or fashion. Visionary designer Donald J Pliner launched his line of luxury footwear and accessories in 1989, and immediately established a reputation for innovative design and high style for both men and women. Pioneering new materials, such as stretchable micro-fibers, he also brought unprecedented comfort, flexibility, and lightness to footwear. Born into a Chicago-based family shoe business, life at DJP is also a family affair. Creative director Lisa Pliner, Donald's wife and frequent model for the innovative ad campaigns, works side-by-side with him to develop each new collection, inserting her artist's vision into the designs, colors and textures. And the Pliner's pure white Maltese, BabyDoll, is ever present, inspiring her own clothing line for the past three years. Today this global brand, manufactured in both Italy and Spain, has established an almost cult following among people who were originally attracted by the fashion-forward style, but return again and again for the comfort and craftsmanship. This easy slip-on loafer is great for casual office or weekend wear. Sleek seamless uppers, in stretchy nappa leather, provide a great fit and feel. A roomy toe box, breathable leather lining, and cushioned footbed add comfort, and a rugged treaded outsole lends durability and sporty style.

Best Work Shoe I've Owned
I am a real estate agent, and I am on my feet most days as I go around town working with clients. This is the first shoe in my entire life that I have ordered a second time just so I could get the same comfort and fit. The leather is very soft and comfortable for full time wearing every day. The look is great for business casual to slightly more formal, so it is a very flexible fashion shoe as well. I normally scuff my shoes up pretty bad, but these seem much more tolerant of scuffing. Most of the time the small scuffs just rub right off like nothing happened! The sole has excellent grip and wears well. I owned my first pair for almost 2 years of daily wear, and I'm hoping my second pair lasts as long!

Like the shoes as always
Had 4 Uwait slip-on shoes before purchase this pair. Since DJ Pliner does not make this model anymore, I get it while it is still available. It fit as expected. Minor issue/question: all the Italian made Uwait have a printed label saying the shoes are made in the mountain of Italy. This pair did not have that label, but just Donald J Pliner. Not sure the original from Italy or China. Other than that. Like the shoes as always.

Great walking and comfortable fitting shoe!
Too bad Pliner Shoes discontinued selling this shoe. My husband loved it and bought it repeatedly until the company stopped marking it available. I highly recommended.

Virtual exchanges is a good company
arrived as expected. However a manufacture's defect has caused the left heel to separate from the body of the shoe. This company has always provided materials as expected. I have purchased several pairs of shoes from them. I erroneously submitted a subpar evaluation of this company. The negative evaluation was for a DVD Store front, not Virtual exchanges.Robert PMiller Jr.Ps I have ordered 3 pairs of the same shoes over the years, and have never had any problems with the shoe, In fact, I ordered my forth pair to replace the damaged pair .

Poor Quality and Small Foot Opening
I have been buying DP shoes from years . I also stay away from their shoes made in China as the quality is just not the same. These shoes, which say made in the Mountains of Italy don't seem to be made with the same level of care as my other DP shoes. Overall, they are not what I expected. The shoes are not comfortable and the foot opening is very tight. I did manage to get my foot in the shoe but after 5 or 6 uses the leather stretched near the opening creating a nickel sized (and growing) circle of fatigued and shredded leather. Very disappointed with DP.

Not made in Italy
If you look at the photo of the inside of the shoe it clearly says Made in the Mountains of Italy. When you pull them out of the box for the first time you'll see that those words are clearly missing. Look inside the shoe and you'll fine the words MADE IN CHINA. Even if I'd loved the shoes they'd still be going back. From now on only Prime or donaldjpliner.com.

not sure if it is leather or man made upper
Shoe looks good and feels good. Seller claims that the shoe upper is made of Italian leather, but I am not sure if that's correct. It feels like some synthetic material. But the shoe for the price is worth a try!updating the review:Wore this shoe for about a week, the sole from the heel ripped off while taking off the left shoe!! Contacted the seller, who very coldly informed that once the shoe has been worn they will not replace it or fix it!
