A really good reel, but not as smooth as the Zephyr series. Spend the extra.

I bought this reel for kayak float fishing on rivers and didn't want an expensive reel which could be lost at any time. I have found it to be smooth and to function reliably. While it is not a $100+ spinning reel, my experience has been that it is a really good reel for the price. I would definitely buy it again.

Good product

I’m really satisfied with the quality of this reel. I ordered the 1000 because I try to use lighter reels as my fishing sessions can get very long. This reel’s weight is closer to some 2500s from competitors but it performs better than most reels at this price point. I initially received a defective product that had an issue with the brake. Sounded like something was stuck in the mechanism and that a deep cleaning and lubrication could fix the issue. But I preferred to return it and I received a replacement product that works as a charm. I spooled some Powerpro braid and tried it today on stock trout at a local lake. It’s exactly what I was looking for.It’s my 3rd spinning reel from Kastking and I’m really impressed with the value they can offer at these lower price points.
