Another Great Super Fun Workout DVD From Cathe ; Warning: Not For Beginners
For all of the original step aerobics fans, this is the one for you. This has become my favorite workout dvd and I am old school step aerobics. I can't hang with all those cheesy zumba, bring back step aerobics to the gym! It seems like today no one can hang with the "real" sweat your butt off, tone yourself and "burn baby burn" workouts. Seriously Cathe is a genius when it comes to step aerobics and it remind me of the days when step classes were what everyone was fighting to get into. This is NOT for the beginner and rightfully so, I would be greatly disappointed if it were. The moves are on many of her other videos; so if your a Cathe fan this is just another awesome workout dvd. Yes the moves can be challenging to learn, that is what was "so fun" about learning a new step routine! Once you get the choreograph down, it's just FUN FUN FUN while you sweat. I love the premixed 73 minute workout that is my favorite. Who doesn't love a 750- 850 calorie burn in 73 minutes? She will make you sweat as you rock on to some awesome music. This workout is so fun! I have many of her DVD's, she is my favorite step instructor.

Fun step workout!
I purchased a step a few years ago, and it came with a Cathe step DVD that contained a basic step routine and a more complicated step with weights circuit. I did those workouts for about 6 weeks and grew bored, so after some research, I purchased this DVD. I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews, so I watched clips on YouTube of this workout and the workout #1 routine. I decided on workout #2 because #1 seemed too "dancey" and too much work off the step for my liking.I'm so glad I purchased this DVD! The combos are complicated at first, but it only took 1-2 times for me to pick it up (keep in mind I was used to Cathe's style). Cathe has great cueing in my opinion, and I find her motivating and likeable. The music is much better than that of my original Cathe DVD. Yes it's a little techno-ish, but the beat is good and the songs are modern. I also appreciate how the music picks up toward the end, so it gives me a little more motivation to keep going. As for the actual combos, there are quite a bit of jumping/plyo moves, bouncing, and squats that have been pretty hard on my knees, but I try to focus on having good form or I just modify the moves a bit. There's not a ton of moves off and around the step which I appreciate since I don't have a lot of space. Lastly, like others have said, there's literally no cool down. I timed it and it's exactly 20 seconds of side steps and marching... that's it. You definitely need to pause it and cool down on your own. The stretching sequence is pretty extensive, though.Overall, I love this workout. I would call it intermediate level. It really gets my heart rate up and sweat pouring. Fun and great way to get some good quality cardio in!

Challenging
So I was hesitant to buy this, because a lot of reviews said it had poor cuing, and was difficult to follow. So here's what I will pass on to a purchaser of this video.Break it down per section. Instead of trying to exercise through the entire video, I only worked one section at a time. I'd repeat it and repeat it and repeat it. When I finally got it, I'd move on to the next section. This is a great step video, complicated but doable. Not for a beginner though, definitely have to know a bit of step terms/steps before diving into this one.

Aerobic step
I bought this DVD as a start up but I soon realized that this is more of an advance workout. She does not spend enough time doing a step to where I get the step when she is on her 2nd or 3rd step in. I had to return this DVD because I was looking for a beginning step aerobic DVD. However, if you are advanced then this may be a good workout for you.

As someone who works out almost daily I enjoy the challenge
This is my third DVD of Cathe Friedrich's and I have to say that it lives up to the others. Cathe provides a high cardio step workout with a variety of moves. If you are a beginner this is definitely not for you. It is high intensity and she moves quickly from one move to another without a lot of break down.As someone who works out almost daily I enjoy the challenge, but I give it 4 stars because I know that it will be difficult to learn for many people and the cuing could be a bit better. Tip: watch the DVD first before you attempt it. No one likes to nearly trip over their step and nearly fall.

I love this workout
I love this workout. Fancy-dancy choreography is not my strong point, but I love a workout with a fast beat and enough choreography to keep you awake. For me this one perfectly fits the bill, and I highly recommend it.

I cannot give a product a bad rating just because I cannot keep up
Make sure you are in shape before starting this workout. The stepping is fast, must be coordinated. I cannot give a product a bad rating just because I cannot keep up. It is a work in progress. Cathe Friedrich workouts are just that workouts
