Great for crabbing
I bought this so I could snare and use baskets at the same time, and this works great! I caught more using this basket than my snare! Left with over 20 crabs at the end of the day!

Good to use
So far it's been used only once. Didn't get any crab, but it seems to be okay.there's room for improvement. If the three top string don't slide would be good to keep the basket in balance.

Decent Quality Crab Trap with Caveats
The hoops and the netting are pretty high quality and held up well. There are some significant issues though. The orange nylon string that attaches to the big hoop is super thin. I fish for crabs in northern California and all the beaches and jetties have tons of sharp rocks. After 3 whole days of casting this trap, one of the three orange nylon straps ripped and it was awkward to re-tie that end. The bait bag is really nice to use but the huge Bobby pin that it attaches to the bottom of the trap is a huge design flaw. On the third day, the Bobby pin caught on something underwater and came loose and I ended up losing the entire bait bag. Now if you are crab fishing in a sandy area, there should be no problems using this trap. If you are using it in Northern California, Bodega Bay, and more north to Oregon or so, I would avoid buying this one.

Top Tier Quality Kit
A crab trap; that’s what this thing is solely being advertised as. Just a simple, little crab trap. The understatement is an insult to this thing.First off, its ability and effectiveness as an actual crab trap is top tier. The metal ring is very high quality and it is strong, sturdy, and dependable (I questioned if it was stainless steel at first). I’ve used this a handful of times already, and when doing so, I’ve let it soak in the saltwater for upwards to five hours on each separate occasion. Even after all of that, there is still not a single sign of rust on the ring. I’ve bumped it into pilings (and barnacles) while pulling it up out of the water, and still, no signs of damage or rust. The rope itself is strong, sturdy, and dependable as well. You really do get 50 feet of rope with this kit, and it is more than enough to get me down to the bottom at the pier. As for the local docks on the river? I could set 10 traps in total with the amount of rope provided in this kit. It’s a high visibility orange, and it stands out from the water, dock, and other surroundings as you would expect it to.The ring netting is thick and durable, even when bumping it against the aforementioned pilings and barnacles. I haven’t found a fray, yet. The bait bag and bait clip are the BEST that I have ever used. The bait bag is made from a plastic type of mesh; a very sturdy, plastic type of mesh. It bends easily without breaking or tearing. The crabs haven’t even made a ding in it yet. The holes on the mesh bag/pouch are small, and the crabs cannot steal the bait, or even get to the bait inside to consume it all. Yet, it still effectively draws in crabs as you need it to. I’ve used old freshwater trout heads and Bluegill in the pouch, and during every outing, I only needed to place bait in the bag/pouch once; and the bait was still mostly intact when it was time to leave. And then we have the measuring tool. It’s a great measuring tool that is consistent with all other legal measuring tools out there. It’s plastic and can break, so just be careful not to be too rough/careless with it and you’ll have it for quite some time. This item seems to be the weakest link in the kit, and I say that because the tool doesn't have any bright/obvious markings on it for the lettering; it's all the same red color throughout, and the writing is just raised plastic. This can be tough for the naked eye to see, especially in darker conditions. The whole kit came assembled already (I would go as far as to say ‘professionally set up’), minus the bait bag and bait clip. But those are stupid easy to rig. I have to say, I ordered this with my reservations; I didn’t expect much. I was wrong - very, very wrong. This is not a cheap kit that you would get from Temu, or an overpriced kit (with lesser quality materials) that you can find in abundance online. This kit is a top tier and top quality kit. If you are looking for a high quality crab trap kit (in this style) that will last, this right here is what you are looking for. It is worth the price. What’s even better? I bet that many of you out there are wondering if this will suffice as a net to scoop your catch up from the water while you’re standing on the pier. The answer is yes, it will. It’s plenty strong to lift up a 30 pound Redfish. This is what I was referring to when I was explaining that I can’t believe it’s only advertised as a crab trap. At this point, its become a crucial piece of equipment that I take with me on every saltwater fishing trip now, even if I’m not planning to crab - it’s ‘just in case I get to use it’ or ‘just in case I need it.’I would like to thank Amazon for allowing me to be a part of their Vine program. My reviews are unbiased, honest, and sincere in an effort to provide you (the customer) with the information you may need in choosing this product or not, and I hope that is what my review accomplishes for you.I would also like to thank the seller “Starrylake” for providing me this product as an Amazon Vine member. Great quality traps for catching crabs
I love that everything is included with this set to start trapping crabs. The floats and orange line are easy to spot in the water. The rings are a good diameter for any size crabs. These traps are best when thrown from a dock or boat or wherever you can pick it up vertically. The netting is strong enough to pull up multiple crabs. I usually use chicken wings for bait cause they're cheap and can hook through the bones so they don't get stolen easily. But raw shrimp seems to work best.Overall a simple trap that does what it's meant to do, nothing less or more.
