First, these are $15 so you know you aren’t getting Stubai or Pfeil. You are not going to carve a violin with them. That being said these are very nice supplementary carving tools. Good assortment of shapes and nice size for detail work. The steel is soft so don’t plan on carving ebony or ash with them. Fine for limited work on maple. They are ground, but not sharpened out of the box… and do have nicks and burrs. The included slip stones are reasonable but not fine enough to put a good edge on them. Plan on purchasing 3M lapping papers to put a mirror finish and you will literally be able to shave with them. The chipping complaints are misplaced. They are ground to 15 degrees which is too shallow for such soft steel… but no problem! Just put a steeper secondary bevel on them when you sharpen them and there will be no issue with chipping.

I didn’t really expect a lot from this set when I ordered it, because the price was low. I thought it would be a cheesy and hastily-thrown-together collection of marginally adequate tools. When it arrived, I was more than pleasantly surprised. The tools’ carry case is sturdy, well-made, with an elegant, clearly printed logo. Unzip the case, and there are two net pockets containing these small carving tools with comfortable wooden handles and sturdy protective plastic caps on the blades. A complete set conveniently assembled; small enough to tuck into a backpack or large handbag to tote. The blades vary in width and utility and are polished and sturdy. This set is for small detail carving, and some of the blades are very small/narrow for precise carving. Since detail carving is what I do, this set will certainly meet my demands. The four sharpening stones are fine grit with various profiles - half moon, triangle, square, rectangle. I’ve not used them yet, but they look as decent as any other sharpening stones I own. Indeed, this is a very nicely compiled set of things: case, tools, tool caps, sharpening stones. I’m more than pleased; this is a fine, fine value. I would most definitely buy this set again.

For a small woodworking tasks, nice set of chisels. I was able to carve a small sailor figure, 8cm in hight, with no problems. With included sharpening stones it can be easily kept sharp and ready for use. Highly recommended.

I have been woodworking now for a couple months. This set is what got me started. I highly recommend for beginners. As for what each tool is used for, i feel the best way to learn is to figure it out yourself. The only issue that I have is, there is no info on the type of whetstone. I did my own research and found that WATER is best used on green silicone carbide whetstones. So for the beginners out there, that had this same question, you're welcome lol. Other than that, great buy for the price.

I used these tools to carve out a rubber block for stamp making. They worked really well and there’s a bunch of different sizes. I still wish there was a smaller one than the smallest they have, but they work.

The set feels nice to the hand, and the case is nice. I bought them to create stamps, but the smaller ones are not sharp enough. These will probably work more properly on wood. Definitely a good option to get a larger set on a budget.

I like the different types of tools. They work well and the blades are sharp enough. I did break only one so far, they could be more durable.I like the size, easy to hold and that it comes with sharpening stones.
