Desk Top Swivel Alarm Clock
We got hooked on this style of clock when we got a free gift of another maker's from American Express years and years ago. We put up on top of a cabinet so that it was not cluttering a usable surface but it was still easily visible. When ours finally gave up the ghost --and that took about 15+ years-- we went looking for a replacement. Not a lot of these out there, we discovered, but we found the black one that we wanted, made by Herman Miller. And then, when we needed a clock in our office, we figured we'd get this Hanslin version in silver. It's plastic (they all are), but it looks good and it's stylish, and (most importantly) it keeps good time. Looks perfect on our glass office desk that has a metal strip on each side which perfectly matches the clock's finish. The swivel allows the clock face to be visible at several angles so it can be placed at almost any height to give you a good view of the time. Fun. Works well. Good price. Win:Win!

Ok for the price.
I read the reviews for this after purchasing it, and tried to cancel my order, but could not. When it arrived it came in a box and had no damage. I use this at my desk with no issues. I don't hear any ticking and generally it gets the job done. While it it made of plastic, it does not look cheap on my desk. It's small enough not to take up much desk space, but easy enough to see. My only complaint is that it's non-hacking which means you can't stop the seconds without taking out the battery. Is this the pinnacle of time peice engineering ? No. But if you are looking for a cheap desktop I think it fits the bill.Side note, I saw someone with one of these clocks, it was the same, but had a floral pattern on the face. They told me they got it for free with a magazine subscription. Lends me to believe that this is the cheapest clock known to man ;)

Very good clock for the price
This clock was a replacement for a similar clock that I bought 15-20 years ago which finally fell apart. I was skeptical that the quality of this HANSLIN clock would be as good as the one I replaced, because it is so much cheaper in price. However, I was pleasantly surprised, as the clock arrived in perfect condition, and after inserting one AA battery and setting the time, it is working fine. Although the materials are not quite as high quality as my original clock, this is still a very solid product -- and very nice looking. So far, it is keeping perfect time, and I anticipate that it will last a long time if I am careful with it.

Great little clock for the price
Great little clock for the price. It's attractive and large enough for me to see the time from across the room. I like its simple design, which fits well in my office. It also works well and has presented to problems at all. Yes, it's plastic - what else would you expect at this price? - but it's heavy enough not to slide around and the body swivels in it's base so that you can set the face at the most convenient angle. The second hand works well and has not fallen off, as has been the case with some reviewers.Update: Unfortunately, it is impossible to install a new battery without setting off the alarm - even when it isn't turned on - and there is no way to stop the alarm. The old battery died and since it will not accept a new one, the clock is a total loss I must change my rating to 1 star. The clock is good only as long as the original battery is installed.

Choose another
Cute. Not lighted. Meant it for my guestroom, but too difficult to see.

Clock OK - back won't stay on
Back will not stay on completely with battery in place. Unlike my prevlous clock made by Howard Miller, the clock does not lift off from base for cleaning or battery change. Numbers on clock face are smaller and not as bold as the Howard Miller clock. Grey color is okay. Haven't tried alarm. Rated as a 3 because battery sticks out when in place and back doesn't stay on. Made in China. Where's the quality control?

Basic Desk top/Table Top Battery Operated Clock, Keeps Time Well Enough
This clock is okay. Although I didn't read the description closely and assumed this was metal when it is actually plastic, it is fairly heavy and doesn't look too cheap. I got this more as a decorative accent on my guest bedside table. It does the job in that respect. Its not a bad clock; I've had it for several weeks and it keeps time better than my personal alarm clock, which is now running thirteen minutes fast. It takes one double A battery and the overall dimensions of this clock are about 5 x 1.5 x 5 and what is a nice touch is that the base has a black felt covering so that it protects the surface it is placed on. The face of the clock does swivel up and down, not side to side, though I don't really see the huge value in the swivel; if you swivel it all the way around, the clock is upside down. What is the value in that? Here is my problem with this clock. I have no idea how to work the alarm. I stupidly threw away the box/directions away and I can't figure out how to set a time. If you look at the image there is a second hand, minute hand, hour hand and a little yellow hand, which I assume is for setting the alarm. I know the alarm works, I have set it off playing with it. It has a typical high pitched beeping that is pretty loud. But I don't know how to set the alarm. For example, it is 10:38pm now and I just moved the yellow wand around the face and when it it the 10, the alarm started going off...I guess you can only set this alarm to go off in exact hours, not minutes as well? I can't quite figure it out so I don't really trust it. That's on me though, for throwing away the directions without looking at that information.Overall, it does what I wanted it to, sits on a table and tells time. I didn't have very high expectations so it's okay, I can't complain.
