I've only been using this now for about 2 weeks, but I feel a difference in the bristles as compared to the big-name toothbrushes. The bristles are much more densely packed, which in turn seems to clean better than a standard toothbrush. I have always found an electric toothbrush cleans better than a standard, but I do feel this standard brush makes my teeth feel as clean as using an electric. Does it feel softer than the standard soft toothbrush? Maybe it's about the same, but for me, it's definitely not any harsher on the gums. The sensation is only different because of density of the bristles, I think. Does it floss? I can definitely see the height difference in the various bristles, but I still confintue to floss. I don't think there is any real replacement/shortcuts for flossing. In terms of the adult size, it is larger than the standard brushes I've been using. I have purchased the child size, which is much closer to the size I'm used to, but I will continue to use this adult-sized model until it is time to switch it out. Although it is larger, it still works, and I use a sulca-type brush anyway for my back molars. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by this toothbrush and I'm not sure I'll go back to "regular" brands. I won't be giving up the electric brushing at night, but I don't mind alternating between the two, which is how I've noticed this one feels like it cleans pretty well.
