100% recommend this product for blue green algae!
First time using this product. I've been managing a tank that has had a huge blue green algae outbreak. Been cleaning and doing water changes and nothing was working. I came acrossed this product at random from an internet search and it was the only algae product that was labeled to not affect anything in the tank at all. I scraped out more algae prior to using and used as directed on the package but added just a little bit more. After 48 hours did a 50% water change and then returned a new carbon filter to it. By day 3 and 4. Everything is crystal clear and no signs of any algae blooms and all my fish, shrimp, snails and live plants are thriving! Cannot recommend this product enough!!!

Works like a charm
I was really frustrated with green Cyanobacteria in my reef tank. It covered all rocks, sand and some of my corals. Daily I manually scrubbed each rock, cleaned sand, rinsed my filter and replaced water sock. Next day everything was coming back. Yesterday I placed chemiclean in my tank as per instruction. Today itโs practically gone. Great product.

If all else fails, its okay to get some help.
PROS: * Works. As promised. Full stop. CONS: * None that I can identify. USE: Directions are fine (for me). But perhaps they could redesign them to make more prominent the first step since it appears many people have problems understanding that they need to increase aeration during treatment. I purchased ChemiClean as part of a bundle of disaster-preparedness supplies. Phase 1 was managing out-of-control parameters, feeding practices, and manual removal. My parameters weren't fluctuating and were relatively stable during the outbreak period. But that didn't seem to bother the cyano. However, I went to the effort of standard practices of stabilizing water chemistry (all parameters measured within acceptable ranges and held stable), water cleanliness (regular water changes), cut down feeding as well as changing foods. I even manually removed some of the cyanos. I bought vacuums to do this. They didn't work too well due to the gravel size (Caribsea Arag-Alive Special Grade). After a few weeks, I decided to move to phase 2 and try bacterial supplements. I tried dosing Brightwell Aquatic's Microbacter7 as well as Dr. Tim's Waste-Away. I did this for a month according to dosing directions. They didn't make much of a difference at all. Phase 3 was Chemi-Clean. I enabled the aerator schedule to full-time duty around the clock. I removed carbon. After a few hours, I dosed about 1/2 of recommended dosage of Chemi-Clean. In 24 hours the cyano was nearly gone. In 36 hours there was not a trace of it anywhere (visibly). It's been clear of cyano for weeks. I've kept the adjusted feeding cycle and feed types. And reverted the aeration schedule to original programming. I've returned the carbon. It works. While I always prefer natural remedies and trust time and improved husbandry, sometimes you need a little extra muscle to fix an issue. Chemi-Clean worked great and I didn't observe any negative side effects on any of the corals or inhabitants in my tank. To name a few: * Euphyllia glabrescens * Sarcophyton * Zoanthids assorted * Palythoas assorted * Goniopora teal/green and ORA red * Duncanopsammia * Caulastrea * Montipora Digitata * Rhodactis assorted * Ricordia assorted * Discosoma assorted * Stichodactyla tapetum (anemone) * Sand sifting starfish * Clownfish * Six line wrasse * Lawnmower blenny * Green chromies * Peppermint shrimp * Skunk shrimp * Emerald crab * Blue leg hermit crabs * Flame scallop * Turbo snail * Astrae snail * Mandarin dragonet

Works well
This worked and was my last most aggressive option for red cyano in my reef tank. I lost 3 fish during the treatment but I suspect that is my fault and not this product. I left it in an additional day because it didnโt seem to be impacting the cyano yet. I should have done a water change and waited to try it again but I didnโt. The cyano issue hasnโt come back and Iโm SO grateful after dealing with it for a year. I miss my flame hawkfish, bicolor blenny and valentini puffer but my corals are healthier after the treatment and my tank looks so much better.

Amazing!
Let's just preface my review that I've only been doing SW for a year after having done FW for 15+. I've been against using special medications after nearly nuking my tank earlier this year trying to get rid of flatworms. However, I've been fighting cyano for a while after I made the mistake of leaving my 13.5g mixed reef tank alone while I was gone for work. I had moved all the fish to a 50g, so the nutrients in the tank essentially all bottomed out. I tried blacking out for a couple days, tried using a baster to get everything suspended and filtered, but nothing worked except for what my fighting conch could reach with its snout. It wasn't horrible -- hadn't completely taken over, but there were spots that no matter what I did, they'd always come back. I tried my first application (just 1 level scoop) less than 24 hours ago, came home from work, and my tank has never looked clearer. Like... I was absolutely shocked. It was like a total show tank. I was always meticulous about making sure the glass was clean, but this is the difference between night and day. The green sheets have receded, and while not completely gone (yet), it's now only barely holding onto a couple spots that I just blasted with the baster. As for my livestock, my solo fish is eating and acting normal. The corals -- zoas, GSP, kenya, ricordea, euphylia, fungia, duncan, acro, monti and digi all seem to be doing fine! Will update this if things go downhill, but as far as I'm concerned, this stuff has done absolute wonders!

Time will tell.
I canโt really comment on the value of the product because the product arrived tampered with. The tape had been opened on the package and โsealed for your protectionโ covering under the bottle cap had been removed and half of the product along with it. It says enough for 300g but there was barely enough product to treat my 180g tank. Certainly not enough to retreat if needed, per the instructions. I have notified amazon...weโll see how they respond. The product has been in the tank for 24 with not much of a difference as of yet...Iโll comment again after the recommended 72 hours. I bought it for a Cyanobacteria problem after watching a video online where the product took care of the issue...weโll see. Follow up...amazon responded quickly with a new package of chemiclean and I am waiting to see if it works. I am at 72 hours and starting to see some break up the Cyanobacteria but it is not gone yet and I may have to dose again after a water change...my slime was pretty bad. Iโll update again. I forgot to take pictures of the before, the pictures are after 72 hours, still plenty of red slime.

PURE GOLD!!!
This is an absolute must have for the aquarium hoby! I use it for green slime cyanobacteria in my freshwater tanks. It works soooo well it is like magic. Simple instructions for 100% success rate, typically in about 36h from application. I got 5 tanks, from heavily planted to bare, small to huge, it works like a charm with zero ill effects on plants, shrimp, snails, fish and filter bacteria. Don't worry about the size of the package, you are getting great bang for the buck. Go for it, you will not regret!
