Why do Dejiang's katanas only use one dowel to fix the handle?

Because most of the traditional Japanese katanas are made with one dowel, the katana's blade fits perfectly into the handle and is held in place by other fittings, only one dowel is sufficient.

Why are Dejiang's katana skewed dowel?

If the dowel were to run vertically through the handle, the dowel would easily damage the rope, which would be very detrimental to the lifetime of the handle and rope.

Why is the sheath of the Dejiang katana light? Is this a quality issue?

Historically sheaths were made to make it easier to carry a katana and fight at all times, so it had to be very lightweight and made of Hackberry wood, not solid wood.

What is the purpose of cladding and burning the blade?

Our material is T10 steel or known as 1095 carbon steel, which is a very hard steel, and the purpose of cladding the blade is to keep the edge of the katana high in hardness and good in toughness.

Can Dejiang katanas be clashed with other blades to test for sharpness and hardness?

We highly discourage this, as the katana of the late Warring States period in Japan was more oriented towards self-defense and practice, as well as a symbol of status and power, so it was not used as a primary weapon to cleave hard objects.
