Infrared Sport Athlete Timer - Wireless, Gateless, Simple.

I bought this system so I could time my kids sprinting. And it is amazing. It took me a few minutes to figure out how it works, but once I did , it became a breeze to set up and operate. It works extremely well, and provides spot on, reliable times. I mainly use the 2-way sensor setting to time my kids in the 40 yard dash, but it has a number of other timing settings. It really is a useful system for a lot of different running events.The only issue I have run into is that the two units (start and end units) do not communicate very well when the tri-pods they are on are lowered to the lowest level. The ground apparently interferes with their ability to communicate via Wifi. However, there's no compelling reason to have them set up on the lowest level of the tri-pods, and once you raise them up to a higher level, there are zero communication issues.I also had an email exchange with Ryan of Position Fitness about a few things, and he was fantastic. He responded within an hour or so and provided great feedback. Excellent customer service from Position Fitness.Long story short, if you are looking for a quality laser timer system, this one is it.

I was looking for a timing system to time athletes in the 40 yard dash and pro agility drills that did not cost a $1000 or more. After doing a search on Google I ran across this unit. I continued my research and also ran across this system on Amazon that looked very promising. I was able to contact the company and after some very prompt replies decided this system could work for me. I use it to get accurate timing to set a baseline for performance training. I believe you cannot improve performance if you cannot measure it. I find hand timing yields inconsistent results and this system provides the accurate repeatable results that I needed. I have only had it a week, since it is a new product. But I have used it for cardio sprinting timing, Illinois agility test, 5-0-5 agility test, three-cone shuttle test, four corners test, and the T test. All with great results. I really like the random start delay, it keeps my athletes on their toes for reaction time. Instead of the usual ready, set, go. My athletes like it also, because with hand timing it is easy to mess up a good run stopping the clock early trying to be too precise or stopping it late because your mind wondered. I would highly recommend this product to anyone or any organization looking for an accurate timing system that won't break bank.

I used the Infrared Sport timing system for a group of kids on my son's football team. The concepts of wireless and gateless are really nice! No need to connect cables to the timing system. Sound volume was good. I could easily hear it. The system is really easy to setup and use. Ryan at Position Fitness promptly answered all my questions. Amazing customer service! Tracking progress is the only way to truly measure improvement!

I purchased these to time sprint workouts. The trouble is the volume of the start gate. If there’s any background noise, wind blowing or people talking you will not hear the start buzzer. I set it up 1 foot from my ear and still could not hear it with a 5mph breeze blowing.So then I set it up so it would start when I broke the start beam. It works like this but after messing with the location for about ten minutes I got it located a few inches from my head. The time will not be totally accurate because you are moving before you break the beam.I contacted the seller/ manufacturer and he realizes there is a problem with the low volume level. He told me he is working on a app to fix this and will let me know when and if it’s ready. I’m disappointed for sure.

These things work great! I’d definitely be careful with them but for the price, they’re a steal. I had one brake but customer service was pretty quick about replacing it!

The media could not be loaded. Great product. Really easy to use. It as advertised!! User friendly and a great tool to measure athletic performance.

I bought this 5 years ago and I am still using it to test 40's for my weights classes. It is easy to use and has been reliable. Much better than using a stopwatch. The wind has knocked the stand over and the unit has luckily held up. I have had to glue the eye piece in a couple times, but other than that, it has been great!

I purchased this product via the company website but wanted to leave a review here to help others who were/are also looking for a timing system. I primarily used this for 40 yard dashes. There are several neat features I've enjoyed so far. First, you can choose a countdown for a start or you can set it so when you pass the sensor the timer will automatically start. There is another feature where the unit can calculate your top speed by placing the sensors a certain distance from each other. It calculates how fast you were able to cover that distance and converts it to MPH. This is a great way to track improvements in top speed. Overall it was exactly what I wanted and for a competitive price. The owner of the company also answered all my questions via email. I'm very happy with my purchase.
