'Mexico is the new India!' Rick Stein journeys down through North America to explore the hottest food trend Mexican! Over six weeks, Rick travels down the Pacific Highway of California down to Mexico, sampling the delights that this beautiful part of the world has to offer, and added his own special Cornish twist to the food on his way. Starting in San Francisco and Baja California, and working his way down through Mexico, Rick Stein cooks, eats and experiences Mexican food at its very best and most diverse. Includes subtitles for the Hard of Hearing. Review: Nice book - If you like the dvd/tv series then this book is for you too. It has lots of recipes and lots of photographs. Review: A spicy road trip. - As long term fans of Rick Stein we very much enjoyed this DVD series. None the worse for being the usual mix of travel documentary, personal reminisces and recipes. A road trip to Mexico was a bit off the beaten track for celebrity chef travelogues which made a welcome change. The cuisine of the region seems to be heavily based around tortillas and tacos so the recipes did get perhaps a bit repetitive after a while.

Highly recommended
One of Rick's better modern TV series, but not up there with his very best from the mid 00's. Still, a highly enjoyable watch and worth adding to any culinary dvd collection.

A culinary and colourful treat
As usual Rick Stein is a relaxed and charming host who finds the most wonderful places and recipes wherever he goes. The country of Mexico is so interesting and varied, and the people seem so friendly despite the poverty in some areas. Rick is so enthusiastic, and when he returns to Padstow to make some of the dishes, I think, Oh, that looks easy. But he makes the recipe looks easy because of his expertise and experience. I learnt a lot about Mexico, its history, culture and geography, and the people. This is really interesting and educational. More please!

A real taste of Mexico to cheer a cheerless day!
Had watched the TV series & then bought this, to re-see on those days when some cheering up is required! I love Mexico, having visited a number of times in various areas (I stayed in that hotel in Oaxaca!) & this video captures a lot of the atmosphere, but will have to buy the book to try the recipes, as can't have my tablet with sticky fingers!!

Great addition
My husband bought me the cookbook a few years ago and I caught an episode of this of the food channel and was hooked! I love watching Rick Stein cook and I already have his India DVD so I thought I would add this to my collection
