Beautiful knife but so expensive!
This was £299.99 when I received it (currently £210.99 at time of writing). This is a beautiful knife, presented in a wooden nice box but at this price is almost too good to use!! There's a non-english review further down which is making out the knife is fake and it's not actually Damascus but I don't think that's the case and have no reason to doubt this is the real deal and is a very high quality, professional grade hand-made knife.

(not) Forged in Fire !
Update August 2024 - 5 months after receiving knife Unfortunately even after average use the knife isn't holding up to its' initial promise. 5mths in and the blade is holding its sharpness, but fragility showing. The nick in the blade in the pic is from cutting a butternut squash ! Also as you can see the blade edge is getting small tarnish and rust spots. These can be expected but the blade is cleaned and dried after every use. SO even the tiniest amount of moisture is causing this. Just not good enough for a knife pushing £100. Very disappointed. Original Review Recently getting into world of quality knives with a couple choice gifts of a Keemake and Findking knives for a milestone birthday. Finding there is a lot of snobbery in the market but hey ho, each to their own. So will try to make this objective as possible with respect to its actual use ! The knife is beautiful to look at. The Damascus pattern coming through nicely. The sandlewood handle feels soft to touch but allows a firm grip. The rivets are embedded perfectly into the handle and can't be felt. The tang is shaped enough to curve round your forefinger if holding the knife quite high up the handle. Doesn’t dig in when applying pressure. Blade is almost balanced at the tang. Slight forward weight on the blade side but nothing to off balance the knife. Out the box the blade is sharp ! Very easy to do paper cut without applying much force. Slicing is perfection. The blade slides back very easy on peppers, onions etc. The tomato test holds fine - slices through perfectly without squashing the fruit down. I've not used the blade enough to need sharpening. In its' current state it is also very good for preparing meat. No issues with trimming away sinew and connective tissue layers from red meat. Tip is sharp enough and enough control for fine trimming as you'd expect from boning knife. Whether this is worth it's current price is completely up to you. I am giving it 5-stars based on overall experience. Price for this type product can vary wildly. For 72 layer, hand forged Damascus it is certainly a work of art. For a proper steel core with layers on top it is certainly at the top end of finesse. Current price is around £220-300 depending on offer. At lower price point for a hand-forged, steel-cored, Damascus knife this is definitely one to keep eye on.

LAMA ACCIAIO IN POLVERE E MANICO MICARTA
