How does the UniversalHumid measure the wood moisture content?

The UniversalHumid measures the electric conductivity between the two pins. The more moisture content there is in the wood, the higher is the conductivity because water has a higher conductivity than wood.

Why do we need two wood groups?

Two different wood groups are needed because of the different structure of the wood types. For more accurate results, we defined two different curves based on our test results.

Consistent readings

I’ve used this on lots of different pieces of wood around the house and the sheds and it’s given consistent readings. I’m happy with it and it’s very easy to use, select A or B (or leave it on what it was last set on) and spike it into the wood. Can’t get easier than that. I’ve probably had it on for 20-30 minutes in total so far and it still shows full battery.

Costs significantly more than the budget ones - but it works, it is reliable, and it lasts, whereas the budget ones I had (small rectangular style) seemed to die rather quickly.Well worth paying the extra in my view
