This is the first "sea monkey" kit that my kids and I have tried that has actually worked! I highly recommend this!

Most of the reviews for this item seem to be under the impression that they are going to instantly have large fish swimming around. It states clearly in the instructions that they will be too tiny to even see, even with the magnified areas. It also says to wait to feed them until three to four days, so if feeding them killed them in 2-4 days, that means you've fed them too soon. We're on day 4 and they are still extremely tiny but you can see the little white bits shimmying around. Just don't get your hopes up for it to look like the images on the front of the package, at least not for a while.

Let me start by saying that it made me pick at least one star...This was initially purchased to give as a Christmas gift but was held back to include in my son's Easter basket instead. He received it this past Sunday and I am sad to say, as ecstatic as he was to get it, nothing went right. 😞 The lights worked literally 2 hours. They were beautiful and bright and he loved that the colors changed...then we noticed the tank leaking and soon after no more lights...oh well we figured. But here we are, four days later, and not one creature can be seen in the tank. No lights. No critters. Nothing. It sits as a potential flood maker on his desk..but he won't let me throw it out in case they are just late hatchers. 😭 This whole thing makes me super sad.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve had my hydro pets now for over a month. They are growing and multiplying. The tank is beautiful with the changing colors. Easy to maintain and I find watching the little sea critters relaxing. I will say make sure during the winter months you keep them in a warm area of your house and don’t let the temperature get too cold. I would highly recommend getting these! They grew a lot quicker than sea monkeys brand if I recall. If you were ever a disappointed kid getting these back in the day, give them another try (be patient) and it will be worth the wait ! Bought for Grandson as a project, the brine shrimp aka sea monkeys he enjoyed. The “monkeys” are tiny.

I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas and it was missing the instruction manual. I found a random video on YouTube and followed their instructions, so I hope we did everything right. Otherwise the setup is very cute and simple.

I had sea monkeys years ago when I worked in a small rural clinic and they became our office pets. The doctor I worked for even named them after the Beatles as only 4 of them survived. This has been a wonderful trip down memory lane to watch them grow from tiny specks to full grown, they have even had babies! I’m having so much fun with them!

Item appeared to arrive in perfect condition, however as began to fill globe water starting leaking out. Discovered air leak and discovered globe would not retain water. Birthday Gift for granddaughter who was thrilled when she opened that she was going to have a pet. Let amazon know problems with defective merchandise and they will send a replacement. Hopeful it works out for my granddaughter to have a pet if only for a couple weeks.
