## Description

From the manufacturer

Review: On a par with Samsung flip but considerably cheaper - Excellent flip phone. Well made, slightly bigger but slightly thinner than the equivalent samsung flip. Screen clarity and resolution good. In my view it looks and performs almost as well as the Samsung Flip4. One advantage to Samsung is that Motorola does not include the same level of bloatware on its phone which ask for your data all the time which I heartily approve of. It also retails at significantly less than the equivalent Samsung model and is therefore ideal if you want the look, feel and performance of a high end flip phone without the high end cost (although I realise that the current £550+ is still a lot of money to pay)
Review: The black line of death - Having enjoyed the novel idea of using a flip phone again (2005 called!), and watching numerous product reviews for this device I decided to purchase it and return to android after four years being on the dark side (Apple). Immediately I noticed the poor camera quality but let this go as it is a midrange phone rather than the high end quality I had grown accustomed to; gone were the days of higher resolution but it was something I was willing to trade in for better battery life... Or so I thought. The failing battery life is something I noticed while in hospital having my daughter in April, and the phone often overheated despite hardly being touched while I was in hospital. I am perhaps charging this phone even more than I was the iPhone I had previously. Where I would charge the iPhone part way through the day just to top it up, this feels like it is never off the charger now but it's a sacrifice I was willing to make until it was paid off... Because it has pictures of my daughter on it so I can back those up when I get a new device... Then last night we were getting ready for bed and I noticed my phone wouldn't let me unlock it, like the screen had frozen. I thought there was a software issue because it came up with something called "Moto Action". When I was finally able to get access to the phone I spent over an hour - beyond midnight - trying to find a work around at least until the morning (one hand mode and auto rotate together is a godsend and have made it possible for me to work with the issue temporarily!) Then I noticed a flickering white line in the centre of the screen.... Hardware issue. Unfortunately desertcart were unable to provide a replacement so have issued a return label for a refund; I have returned to the dark side and will receive my iPhone handset on Monday. In the mean time I am using a phone with a dying screen. Attached is an image of what happened upon folding the handset when the white line came up on the screen. All I can advise is do not purchase a folding or flip phone. It's a great gimmick but the design isn't as robust as the flip phones of Y2K. And if you are determined.... Get a Samsung Z Flip. ETA: the following day after the black line appeared, the black spread rapidly like an ink leak across the screen rendering it absolutely unusable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent phone at reasonable price.
*by D***E on 14 January 2024*

I wanted a smartphone with a screen large enough to read but that would fit in my pocket! The flip phone concept is an ideal solution and so far it is performing well. The only negative at the moment is the battery life is limited to around 24 hours before recharging is required. Although time to recharge is quite quick, only a few hours. Perhaps might need to look at a wireless charger next!
