It made me smile
After I did some test grinds to find the best setting for me it stays on that setting. I never had a manual grinder before this one. I used an electric grinder which is loud and upsetting in the morning. I feel good making my pour-over with this grinder. The grinder's precision quality and the perfect coffee grind still make me smile.

Best upgrade to a coffee grinder I made
I bought a ceramic burr grinder three years ago and upgraded to the C3 stainless steel burr grinder. The C3 is easier to use and the coffee grind size is much more uniform. Excellent quality and I hope to get many years of use with it.

Great performance, questionable long term life.
Overall, this is a great daily driver for anyone focused on dark/medium espresso. However, keep in mind the internal bearings are GLUED in place. This means over time if/when they wear out you will have a bad time trying to replace them or if you're like me and your grinder falls off your kitchen counter, you'll have no way to replace broken bearings. Otherwise the build/construction feels great.

Excellent, easy to use, food grade stainless steel inside, does a wonderful job of grinding.
Last spring, I ordered a fancy cordless rechargeable coffee grinder that was great for travel. I don't travel any more, but never mind that. I read the entire instruction booklet for this fancy grinder, and I never did get it to work as I thought it should. I'm sure most of that problem is on me, because I'm not good with technical stuff, but I'm not that bad at it. At any rate, I did okay with the fancy cordless grinder for several months, but I was never comfortable with it, and I doubt it was comfortable with me, either. Then I saw this manual grinder, ordered it, and all my troubles are over, at least in the area of grinding coffee. I think this coffee grinder is very cute, which has nothing to do with grinding coffee beans but isn't a bad thing. This has 30 clicks for very precise grinding adjustment, and the minor adjustments of 0.0233mm per click allows you to easily achieve the perfect coarseness for your whatever kind of coffee you're making, from French press to espresso and everything in between. It's amazing, how this works and how easy it is. This grinder is very easy to use, and I don't have any problems using it. I have nerve damage in my right hand after a wreck that broke my humerus and shattered my shoulder, and I can easily grind any setting I want without any trouble at all with this grinder. It's definitely more precise than the old electric grinder I had before I got the fancy one, and it's even more precise than the fancy one I had before this one. This grinder is all aluminum on the inside and has upgraded S2C steel burrs for better cutting performance, which lets you get the most out of your coffee beans. The grinder has a long name, and the ESP in its name means that this grinder was specifically designed for espresso. It works very, very well for me for any type of coffee, from espresso to a pot of coffee. I love the compact size of this grinder, since we have very little counter space, and its folding handle makes it take up even less space and is perfect for travel. It comes in a little pouch, and it does not require a 300-pound football player to put this into its pouch. It fits very well and is easy to use. This grinder is made of excellent products, all aluminum on the inside, a steel burr grinder that has more grinding power than most, and it has an easy to grip outside and a non-slip silicone base that keeps it still while you're using it. That feature works very well too. If you love your coffee first thing in the morning or at 3:00 p.m. when you're starting to fade, whenever you love it, you will love this coffee grinder and the coffee it makes. You really do get the most from your coffee beans if you grind it with this manual grinder right before you make your coffee. It's totally easy to do - you turn a dial on the bottom to select the grinding size, then you turn the handle on the top. That's it. I highly recommend this manual coffee grinder to anyone who loves coffee and wants to get the most out of their coffee beans, which aren't cheap and most often we don't get the most from them. With this easy to use, easy to understand manual grinder, which is easy on my arm that's all banged up, your coffee will be better than ever. You don't have to have an engineering degree to operate this grinder, and it definitely saves counter space. One other benefit to this manual coffee grinder is that it doesn't make noise, which matters if you finally got your baby to go to sleep or when your spouse/significant other is sleeping. My dog seemed to hate the electric grinder we had before this one, and I always figured it hurt his ears. He thoroughly endorses this product, giving it four paws and one tail up, and I'd give this ten stars if I could.

I use it for my French Press on the go
Like most of us, I can't function without my morning coffee! I have a monster ECM espresso machine for home with a Lagom P64 grinder for espresso, and an Opus 2 grinder for use with my wonderful Espro French press. But unfortunately since I travel constantly for work, I'm away from all that wonderful coffee kit so wanted to get a hand grinder for my travels. I had low expectations although I know many people use hand grinders exclusively even at home. Was I wrong. This grinder is very substantial and solid. It's fairly compact since the handle folds to the side. It fills easily and grinds smoothly. On the road I bring a small durable French press that travels well and makes just one large cup, and I grinned to see when I looked at it again that my travel French press also is made by the same company, TIMEMORE. Of course it takes more effort than what I'm accustomed to, to get my beans ready, but it's still well worth it. Have you read about the sanitary issues with those hotel coffee makers? You don't want to know, but besides that the coffee they produce is not exactly drink worthy. Sure it's an extra weight to carry a grinder, a press and a small water heating device. But well worth it. I can see if someone wants to keep costs down but still enjoy great grounds, you can cut out the much larger expense of all the paraphernalia I spent unreasonable amounts of cash on. You can probably get similar results in this much smaller footprint. This price to some people might seem excessive, but believe me, if you're used to pre-ground coffee beans, you're in for a delightful surprise as to how much this small device will improve your cup. I only had access to the green color which is attractive, but I wish I could have gotten the black instead. That's not the grinder's fault and it's only seen by room service! But in black I'd be tempted to even display it in my home, it's a small thing of useful beauty.

very simple operation
This is a very straightforward grinder. It feels absolutely great in the hand and feels like it's going to last forever. The whole thing is a quality metal. The textured surface really feels good in the hand and very secure to hang on to. The silicone bottom provides good traction to not slide around if you want to operate it resting on a surface. I really like the folding handle for easier storage, tho it did almost pinch me one time. You just have to watch out. I had a little trouble sorting out how to grind, but part was on me for not reading the instructions well - it's all in there. Once you read the booklet and have the general idea in your head, there is an abbreviated version right on the dial part to remind you what the basic settings are, so you don't have to memorize them. I'm sure there is a little trial and error as coffee beans must have their own variation, but I followed the general guideline to grind for expresso and made myself a nice cup that brewed just fine. The grounds seemed quite even and it was very finely ground. I like the idea of doing it on human power and not electricity and that I could grind beans if the power went out - ha! The only thing I didn't like was cleaning it, as in, I'm not really sure how to. There are no instructions at all, but it comes with this little brush. It only says not to use water, but not what TO do. I sort of winged it and I used a can of pressurized air, but really, not much was left on it when I used that at the very end. I loosened it up (like for a coarse grind) and then brushed it a bunch. I guess that did it. I don't really have anything much to compare this to, but it just seems like this is a Rolls Royce of hand bean grinders.
