Very Disappointed - Upgraded to Satisfied Customer
The photo looked like it would be a nice product. Reading other reviews indicated that the sizing chart was accurate. We did not find that at all. We found their sizing chart to be way off. The sizing chart says 14-15" leg circumference = MedLg. Our dog's leg was right at 14.5" so we ordered the MedLg - but the size of the leg holes on the device we received was small - it barely went above his rear hock and stopped. It did not come close to going up over his hips and being able to be closed at the top.I feel the sizing chart does not offer enough info for a correct fit. It only looks at 1 aspect of the dog -basically horizontal leg circumference. But it does not account for differences in vertical length of the dog's groin to hip to top - above tail/ back. We have a German Shepherd with a narrow circumference of the leg, but a long distance to completely reach up over the hip to connect at the top.It looks like the product would be nice if it fit (thus the additional star). But we are now unsure of whether even a large would fit -- or if he would need an extra-large? Since the chart is inaccurate - it is a guessing game at this point! I will revise this review if we find a size that fits and the device works. We really need something quickly, our poor fellow threw a clot to his rear leg and had a sudden loss of mobility. Our vet wants us to rehab him and keep him moving to hopefully help him regain some strength in his rear, but we need this type of device to assist him getting up, standing, and walking. For now, I cannot recommend this product.8/21/20: Update - We had been frustrated with the sizing chart that did not match the fit our dog received. We received a response to my amazon review from the company's customer service department. We called the phone number they provided to discuss the fit of this harness, as well as their rear support walking cart. A "LIVE PERSON" customer service representative answered the phone and was very knowledgeable & helpful in answering our questions. From the chart measurements, we started with a M/L, and ended up with an XL. So the chart did not work for our pet. With the right size, we found the product to be well-made and appears more comfortable for our boy compared to products that just have straps.Due to their outstanding customer service, I am up-grading my review to 5 stars! Although I would not trust the measurement chart, there are more factors than just that one measurement in getting a good fit. I recommend contacting their very helpful customer service to determine the best fit for your dog.

Too long
The product itself is fantastic, well made, and sturdy. It appears comfortable. Sadly, it's not functional for helping my small dog support her weight while going to the bathroom - it was too long, and despite trying two different sizes, she peed on both.I originally followed the size chart and got a small after measuring my papillon, who has a ruptured disc and isn't supposed to walk for the next 4 weeks. The harness arrived quickly, it's a great product, but it was too long in the crotch, and got squarely in the stream of her pee. Since I couldn't exactly return it after she peed on it, I bit the bullet and ordered the next size down. When it arrived, it still seemed a bit long, but we tried it anyways, and again she peed directly on it. It's SO unfortunate that they couldn't design it to allow for both mobility support and toileting, and at $40 each, it's a rather expensive disappointment to not be able to use either of them.

Works Well
I like this product and it's well-built; however (and maybe it's just my dog), the product seems to uncomfortably bunch up. His rear end has wasted away quite a bit due to loss of functioning, and he doesn't seem to mind very much, but it supports him a little awkwardly, maybe unevenly.

best kind of harness
If your dog cannot stand or walk, this is the best harness. It's a little difficult to put on, and it does get soiled quickly, but with a giant breed dog it is what you need to get the proper lift without breaking your back. I bought a second one so I can have one on the dog and one in the washer. When you wash this, remove the buckles from the long strap and clip them into the other half of the buckle-that way you won't lose them in the wash. I lift her with the straps- I found the long lifting straps provided to be awkward. We tried the belly sling type harness but it slides forward causing less leverage, so you are actually holding up more weight. My dog weigh 130 pounds-if you have one under 80 pounds any harness would probably be ok

Looks like a contraption and it is
Looks like a contraption and it is. But it is a difficult problem to solve.WHY ONE STAR?? Because the binding used around the leg openings is so rough it will cause lesions on the insides of your dogs legs if you walk any distance. My boy has trouble getting up and that is what I bought this for. I thought it might help him a little when he 'poops', but no.In addition, it will not stay 'up', it tends to slip down, due to the fact that dogs with unstable rear ends tend to 'stoop' backwards.Wish it had worked. Wish that WalkinWheels could figure out a really good lift harness that wasn't so much of a rube goldberg design. Too many straps, too hard to put on, just too much boogaloo for a dog that has rear end pain.

What a difference this has made
My big boy (mastiff/shepherd cross) lost the use of his back legs due to an injury while playing. I first ordered the wheelchair for him, not realizing how difficult it would be to get his big heavy back end into it. I subsequently ordered this rear-end harness and it has made our lives much easier. I cannot put it on him while he stands (as demonstrated in the dvd) because he can't stand on his own, instead I get his feet started while he sits, and slide it up each side until I can grip both edges and hoist him up. He's a heavy guy -- about 160lbs -- and I'm a 5'5" woman, so there is a weight differential I"m dealing with. This harness has made it much easier for me to lift him, and I can now walk him short distances or load him in his wheelchair much more easily. When his injury happened, it was sudden, he went to bed one night fit and walking and woke up the next morning paralyzed in his back legs, I had a few rough days trying to cope with his injury and my seeming inability to move him around comfortably. This harness has helped hugely. I highly recommend it if you are thinking of getting the walkin' wheels chair for your dog, it makes loading the patient safer and easier. My big guy is on the mend and is now able to move his legs about, though he can't bear weight on them for very long. But he makes progress every day and I think these items have helped his progress.

Highly recommended.
Very well made harness, adjusts every which way to fit any small dog, we’ve got pugs which are an awkward shape but no problem with this harness. Also can be fitted into dogs wheels making it more comfortable for dog. Works really well helping to keep our dogs balance and is getting back to walking by himself. This really is the harness I’d buy in future.

No good for dog with sloping back
Useless for a German Shepherd as the straps do not stay on his back... shepherds unfortunately have sloping backs ... I am going to try and modify this by adding something for the straps to go through on his back to try and keep them in place but to be honest I could have bought a much cheaper one to do all this work

Works well
This does the job and seems to be comfortable for my dog (not neutered). The cross straps do slip backwards but are not a problem when the dog is walking whilst supported.
