Wonderful production starring two superb singers
Wonderful production starring two superb singers - Renee Fleming and Elina Garanca, and an especially poignant recording in that it is of their very last performance in the roles of The Marschallin and Octavian. Well worth seeing - and in my case, well worth buying and having in my DVD library.

One of the last perfect productions of the Met
One of the last perfect productions of the Met. Renee Fleming is deeply moving in her farewell role. Elina Garanca is one of the most brilliant opera singers of the day. The singing, the representation, the staging is perfect. One of the best recordings of this opera.

Had never got round the watching this and was surprised by how engaging it is, given the trite story line. Beautifully sung by all concerned and an enjoyable outing. However be warned the subtitling is dreadful, extremely poor and erratic. Seldom come across such an unprofessional delivery leaving you wondering what the hell is going on.

Elina and Renee - sublime!
Superb! Not too keen on period it was set in but the quality of entire production is outstanding none the less.
