No, comes in a sealed vacuum, which is what you want really otherwise could be contaminated in transportation / break

I have bought a large scoby. Does that mean i must add 5 litres?

I bought this for my grand daughter for an experiment in school. I am not sure what amount of liquid they had to add to it.
